John MacArthur: CATHOLIC vs CHRISTIAN

I found was grossly undereducated men who called themselves “preachers” or “pastors” who were chiefly interested in:
1. Making money
2. Gaining popularity
3. Spreading a false gospel

It was quite obvious to me they had very little Biblical knowledge.

MacArthur, on the other hand, has a vast knowledge of the Bible and goes to great pains to explain it so articulately. I can honestly say that he changed the direction of my life. I am forever grateful to find such a wonderful teacher. Therefore, I’ve created this YouTube channel in order to propagate his accurate and thorough Biblical teachings.

I grew up Catholic and while I am grateful I learned about God through it, I never knew about the wonderful opportunity of having a relationship with my heavenly Father until I got saved. I began questioning the confessional and other "man made" laws taught at the church. I've been a born again believer, and true Christian for over 30 years now.

Love Dr. MacArthur's teaching. I was brought up catholic and my family is catholic, brother/family, nieces, nephews. But I am strictly forbidden to talk "religion" to them and my brother and his wife no longer speak to me last 4 years. I was 35 when I was introduced to the bible by a loving couple, at a difficult time in my life. Now 80 and have never looked back. Thank you Lord. I still pray for my family every day.

Born and raised Catholic then when I was 15 yrs old was invited over my aunt's house who was a Born again Christian, there her pastor ambushed me and the next thing I know I'm sitting on her bed receiving CHRIST as my savior.. had no idea what was even happening, I tell you the truth the Spirit of God came inside my body with warmth and peace overwhelming me, from then on HE would speak to me in my mind even if I was having trouble and say it's okay cause I got you. Jesus taught his disciples to pray, "OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN...". He never said anything about praying to Mary. Keep on doing the great expository preaching John. Read the bible people!

To God be all the glory for the biggest miracle that ever happened in my life 🙏 The miracle to quit the Catholic church which I joined at age 12 because my parents took me there for school. Amen! I am a member of a Sicilian group on Facebook, and someone posted a picture of some meat sauce they made yesterday, and the Catholics immediately pounced on the person saying they shouldn't eat meat during Lent. I replied that I couldn't find that anywhere in the Bible. Oooh the controversy!

This man was one of the first Bible teacher I ever heard, he was on the radio and I listened to him every day while working. That was over 35 YEARS ago. He is a fantastic Bible teacher who stands tall in a fallen culture. He kneels before nobody but JESUS CHRIST. IF you really want to become an informed Christian get a Bible, read it every day and listen to his radio program and you will be a healthy knowledgeable student of the Bible and know what it means to be a joyful servant of Christ Jesus.

Sorry, to my Protestant brothers and sisters but Catholics and orthodoxs are Christians as well. In fact historically, Protestants were Catholics that decide to separate from the church with Luther.

God loves us, that He requires us to go to him in person and seek him.
We don't need an Intermediate like how the universalism do, ;

I am 65 years Catholic and I agree with 95 percent of MacArthur teaching. But using Ott's book as a source for Catholic teaching is incorrect. Ott is just one of many Catholic theologians whose book has been corrected for its errors by the Holy See (Vatican). The Catholic church has most definitely not taught for centuries that Mary is the only way to God. Authentic Catholic teaching is found only in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Where other authors like Ott conflict with the catechism, they are wrong and not representative of Catholic teaching. I never even heard of Ott's book until Isaw Protestants quoting it to bash Catholics online. It's an out of date semiheretical relic.

I can tell horror stories about what my family, and I, went through
as Catholics, going to priests for help. Each one had a different
answer. NONE of them ever opened a Bible.NONE prayed with
scripture. All of them prayed to idols, and pictures...All revered
Mary... "The Virgin". But now we are all born again, Bible reading.
And not an idol picture or statue.
The vatagin ordered an exorsism of our house. It was the
greatest sign of the powerless, ignorance of these people.
We did not need hipocrites, because God answered our prayers.

I'm not Catholic, but if you choose to quote the church, you should use the Catholic Catechism. If it's not in that then the quote is a personal perspective. Let's maintain integrity if we feel the need to criticise another denomination.

To my fallen away Catholic brothers and sisters who have said that the Catholic Church doesn't promote and encourage reading the Bible, or that you couldn't have a personal relationship with the Lord, you obviously didn't pay attention while attending Holy Mass. The Catholic Church is based on scripture, tradition and wisdom of the early church fathers, not someone's opinion. Live Catholic, live truth!
