I was an atheist all life, over 30 years. I converted in a nice Baptist church. However, since my convertion I have been studying a lot about the history of the church and learned what Catholicism really is, to the point that I'm starting to feel bad when I'm in my church. I wish I could go to a Cathic mass but I'm married with four kids and my wife can't stand hearing the word Catholic. Please, would you pray for my wife to be as curious as I'm about the history of the church and maybe my family and I can become Catholics.

Former protestant, I am grateful to your channel and a few others because i heard many times these same arguments but the first time i decide to see for myself nothing made sense. What they said and what the church said we're not the same. Over the course of a few years i came to know what the church is and by the grace of God I'm going through RCIA right now.

I'm not here to defend John MacArthur. I'm here to defend the Gospel of Salvation that you corrupt. Therefore being justified by faith we have peace with God. James does not contradict Paul when he says you SHOW the inward salvation by your outward life. As a former Catholic, I did pray directly to God, but I also foolishly prayed to Mary every night, usually at a 5:1 ration because of praying the rosary. You also know some Catholics pay more homage to Mary aka. Blessed Virgin, than to Jesus.... not all but many. John MacArthur may not be representing Catholocism perfectly, but in many areas you don't represent Bible teaching even remotely. Unlike MacArthur, I lived Catholocism. I know where of I speak. I had no assurance of salvation and was planning on spending considerable time in purgatory if the scapulas I bought didn't get me to Heaven if I died wearing them. Thank you Lord Jesus for saving me from that theological mess!

If John MacArthur can find a Catholic text like “Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma” by Ludwig Ott, there is no reason he cannot do authentic research of an honest nature… if he wanted to. The last time I checked the net worth of MacArthur was somewhere in the neighborhood of $15 million dollars. The truth is that he can make more money by spreading anti Catholic lies than by being honest. I don’t consider John MacArthur a true pastor, just a wealthy demagogue. 😊

I saw a video of his that treated the Virgin Mary with such disrespect that it would offend true protestant believers who have a holy fear of the Lord

James 5 teaches to call upon the ELDERS, and by their prayers and use of Holy oil, the sins of the sick shall be forgiven! Why not call upon Jesus Christ alone? Doesn't Mr. McArthur know that we say the "Our Father " at every Mass and six times every time we say a rosary?

While McArthur incorrectly says that access to God is ONLY thru Mary, it is absolutely true that Catholics DO pray to Mary for access to God.
*Asking* a friend to pray for you differs greatly from *praying* to a non-earthly entity with the same request.

In addition, Catholicism requires confession of sins to a priest, who will assign a penance that usually includes prayers to Mary, which must be completed for the actual forgiveness to occur.
The rosary also includes beads of prayers to Mary.

So while the Catholic belief may say that access to God is available thru Jesus, to say that Catholicism does not include/require some amount of access thru Mary is disingenuous.
