I have been trying to find a job for the past 5-6 months, unsuccessfully. And the worst part is, apparently that's very common in 2024. So in this video, I will be sharing my experience on why can't i find a job and get hired in 2024 and why getting a job literally feels impossible right now for all of us.

Getting hired nowadays is like winning the lottery. Some employers are so very unprofessional nowadays that they would actually post ghost job offers and only for you to apply to those ghost jobs and be left disappointed and feel like a failure. I will be explaining what ghost jobs are, I will be giving my job search strategies, however valuable that is, and I will be diving into more things such as the job market in 2024 and explaining why it's so hard to find a job and get hired by a company right now, so hard that you might need to consider lying on your resume. If you also cant find a job right now, we are all in the same boat my friend. :")

1:11 I claimed 100+ jobs because that’s what it said only on indeed. Idk how many i’ve actually applied to bc i never kept count bc that’d be a chore lmao. And i’ve definitely used other websites such as: the company’s actual websites, linkedin, craiglist 💀, etc to apply for a lot of other jobs other than just indeed. There’s been days when I’ve applied to more than 60-70 jobs.

In total from 5-6 months, I’d say i’ve definitely applied to more than 700 jobs 💀

My 23 yr old son is currently going through this bs job search. He has applied for over 200 jobs with only two online interviews. No offers. He just graduated with a bachelor's in computer science, which apparently is the new basketweaving degree. Something is very, very wrong in the American economy, and the media is ignoring it. *Vote* wisely in Nov 2024.

If the job market is like online dating then America is over.

I used to think that people that begged or used food stamps or relied on the government for money were all simply lazy and didn't want to work. Then i couldnt work lost all my money and cant find a job no matter what i do. I realized how wrong i was to judge others.

12 months now, with a master's degree in STEM and 5 years of experience. Too many applications. A company made me go through 8 interviews, two with the VP. The ninth interview was to tell me I was not hired. Ridiculous. If someone needs an applied physicist let me know!

Got laid off in January of 2023 ... Applied to over 300 jobs or more since then got 20+ interviews, told me they get back to me, never got back to me still unemployed after 1 year 4 months later. WE Are not lazy according to politics we are in a recession everyone record inflation 😢😢 hopefully we all find a job soon; its horrible out here. COVID did change everything even after 3 years, god bless everyone we won't stop, we wont quit, let keep marching guys. God bless

It's not *usually* normal. For the past 10 years it would take me less than a week to find a brand new job. I was out of work a year ago though and it took 6 months to find a job. Something abnormal is happening.

With the amount of background checks, ID checks, emails and interview rounds, there is NO WAY a homeless person would be able to find a job. It also takes more than 4months to even land one, so crazy.

8 Months now and I feel the struggle financially. I am feeling horrible having to borrow money from people. What pisses me off the most, is when a recruiter messages you and you message them back showing your interest, they ghost you. I've had that happen 3 times so far.

Then they will have the audacity to ask you about the gap in your employment

Middle aged dad, just finished college a few years ago and it took me 2 years. It’s a minimum wage job but it’s better than nothing. I’m just thankful it’s low stress

The fact that a large minority of people now have to rely on food stamps or unemployment from the government is disgusting. Some need it of course, disabilities for example. But then you have someone who WANTS to work and is CAPABLE of working, but can’t because the job search is not only abysmal, it’s dangerous for how hard it has become. Something *NEEDS* to change soon

It's not about how you grow within your company anymore, but who you know and who you blow. 😂

I did an interview for a gig.

The interview was a time waster. They never had intentions to hire.

Someone was lined up for the job already.

What we're seeing is similar to the events that happened during the Crash of 08. Many of the young people at that time were struggling to find and secure employment while older workers were being laid off en masse. Now we're seeing the same thing but this time HRIS are a bit more advanced.

It baffles my mind to no end that employers want 2024 quality of work for 2019 wages.

I can only imagine what Gen Alpha is going to go through when they reach their late teens to early adulthood.

Society's cooked dawg. It's all about I have mine you get yours with these people. They'll call you lazy but don't want to help you find a job. It's damn near impossible just to find a minimum wage job and even if you do, you're still going to be broke by the end of the month. This ish is so demotivating to the point where I'm thinking about ending it all
