Why do Catholics Pray to Mary?

In the winter of 2010, this statue of the Virgin Mary was found, broken in half, lying next to a dumpster, because she was being thrown away. The man who found this holy statue rescued her and took her home.

Dirty, chipped and broken in half, Our Blessed Mother was put together again. The man who repaired her requested that she be painted and have her broken hands mended. He wanted to make her new again and perfect. But the man who found her simply said, “No, she is broken, just like me. We all are broken and in need of repair. She represents the broken.”

The story of Broken Mary soon spread throughout the city: she was blessed by a Catholic priest and now stands near the altar of his church. People come to take Broken Mary, and she has been placed in hospital rooms, in hospice facilities next to the dying, and in the homes of families who are suffering from personal hardship like drug and alcohol abuse. She has been with those who are broken.

The small hands and tiny arms that embrace Broken Mary in this photograph belong to seven-year-old Oliver, who was broken during this photo. Although he was suffering from cancer, he was filled with joy and happiness. This brave little child now lives for eternity with God.

The power of prayer is just that: power, the power of God, who hears all of us when we pray, and every prayer is answered. The rosary is the story of Jesus, the Son of God, from His Nativity to His Crucifixion to His Ascension into Heaven. Our Mother Mary requests that we pray the rosary daily. Many think that they have no time to pray, and know nothing about the rosary; but this app makes it easier to pray anywhere at any time.

Everyone can join in with the recitation of the rosary daily by using the technology here. Simply select the day, recite the rosary and meditate at home, during a work break, or ride or walk. There is comfort in prayer, through the sacred rosary.

All Catholics Remember “No other Gods Before me!” Is one of the 10 commandments in the Bible, praying to Mary is not how you go to Jesus. I agree the beautiful woman can point to her son (Jesus!) I’m Christian and part of my family (who identify as Catholics) pray to Mary (Saying, O’ Holy Mary Mother of God!”) and I’m really worried about what they do. And also, I love Catholic and Christian spirituality, people say sometimes you should pray to Mary. I don’t call her my mother but out of respect, faith, and Kindness as a Christian I say She is the Blessed Virgin Mary who is the perfect woman! Jesus is the one we go to ONLY! The father, son, and the Holy Spirit! Catholics and Christian’s are the same. People tell me they are Jehoavah witnesses.

To be honest, I love the sculptures of Mary as a Christian and they are so beautiful, I still love Mary and Joseph I don’t care what people say Mary and Joseph are Important Historical people!

“God sent his begotten son to earth to preach the good news, whoever believes in him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life!”

Question: will we meet Mary and Joseph in Heaven? Jesus is the WAY✝️✝️✝️😁😁💚💚💚💚

Also, should I get a Mary statue? I’m not going to be a Catholic but still it’s respectful;)

It breaks my heart when this man saw the Mary statue, seriously who does that to beautiful smile on Mary’s face? Whoever did that needs to turn to Jesus.

JESUS IS COMING BACK SISTERS AND BROTHERS✝️✝️✝️

one afternoon, it comes my thought why do people including mary to their prayer. in that same night I dreamed that there were two processions on a mountain uphill to God and mary but there are lots of people processioning to mary but the backround and the color u can see was black and it's lifeless and scary. And suddenly I went to the procession to God but no one in there Only God. floating in the mountain God face lightining. and u will feel in Peace. and perfect Joy and God's Almighty his long white dress in there's an understanding like humbleness and purity and you could feel very peaceful.

4 REASONS YOU SHOULD NOT PRAY TO MARY
1. THERE IS ONLY ONE MEDIATOR
1 Timothy 2:5 says,  There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus.
This confirms we don’t need a “go-between.” We don’t need a middle-man (or woman) beyond Christ.
When Jesus died, shed His blood, and was raised from the dead the need to have someone (e.g. high priest) represent us was ripped away just like the curtain that tore from top to bottom.
2. GOD ALONE SHOULD BE WORSHIPPED
Luke 4:8 says,  Jesus replied, “The Scriptures say, ‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’”
Praying to Mary and/or any living or deceased saints is an act of worship…which is reserved for God alone.
When Jesus modeled prayer (Matthew 6:7-13) He began with, “Our Father in Heaven.” No where in Scripture is it suggested that we pray to Mary or any other deceased saints.
3. MARY WORSHIPPED JESUS AS GOD
In Acts 1 the disciples and about 120 believers were in an upper room waiting for the promise of the Holy Spirit (at Jesus’ command). Guess who was present with them? Mary. What was she doing? Praying.
Acts 1:14 says,  They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus.
It’s important to note that the apostles weren’t praying to Mary as a go between. She was joined with them in prayer…to GOD.
4. MARY WAS A SINNER IN NEED OF A SAVIOR
According to Psalm 51:5 we are all born as sinners in need of a Savior, Mary included.
Mary was highly favored, not sinless. There is not one scripture to  support that Mary was without sin. JESUS is the only one who never sinned (2 Corinthians 5:21,  Hebrews 4:15,  1 Peter 2:22) which explains why Mary had to be impregnated by the Holy Spirit.

Extras
* The Bible is about JESUS, after all Jesus is the Living Word (John 1:14). The Old Testament points to JESUS. The New Testament is about Jesus. The authors of the four Gospels saw JESUS as the central figure and only mention Mary in reference to JESUS. The word “Jesus” is mentioned 1, 478 times in the New Testament. The word “Mary” is only mentioned 55 times and some of those are in reference to Mary Magdalene. Also, Jesus is referenced in 26 of 27 New Testament books.
* Mary can’t hear you. Only God can hear all of our prayers as He is the only one omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent.
* Mary was not even recognized in Scripture as a leader in the early Church. Peter is the one who stood up, addressed the crowd, and preached in Acts 1, not Mary.
* JESUS is the only Way, Truth, and Life. No one can come to the Father, except through JESUS.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Mary DOES NOT take us to her son. That is a lie of the devil and most important not biblical. Even peter said that Christ suffered ONCE for sins, the just for the unjust that HE might bring us to God". Jesus said "I am the way and NO ONE comes to the father but by me". Where is Mary in any of this? Can you direct me to any scripture that says Mary is the way to either Jesus or God. Can you show me where Jesus said pray to his mother to get to him or his Father? I will gladly pray to Mary if you can show me where scripture says to pray to her.
