How Leighton Flowers Teaches Church history

John Calvin's the Institutes of the Christian Religion, book 4, chpt 17, sections 14-59

Today we started responding to Leighton Flowers’ attempt to respond to our basic discussion of one simple truth and reality: the Provisionist view of man’s will and God’s grace is completely in line with the Roman Catholic view at the time of the Reformation; that is, Flowers stands firmly with Erasmus against Luther on this topic. This is all about the sufficiency of grace versus the mere necessity of grace. This has been a theme we have discussed for decades. Flowers’ attempt to respond revealed so many important errors and weaknesses in the Provisionist position that we simply could not allow the opportunity to pass.

"You all go read it!" I did read it and wasn't surprised to find that Flowers had ripped the quote from the Institutes completely out of context. I see many a charismatic preacher do the same thing with the bible, all the time. Without a consistent biblical hermeneutic, one will wrongly discern the word of truth. In this case, wrongly discern Calvin's Institutes. Flowers seems to have a, CDS problem. (Calvinism Derangement Syndrome)

Leighton and some if not most of his followers know almost nothing of Church history, let alone at least a basic understanding of the Sacraments other than from their view it's just a mere sign, when it's more than just a sign.

Leighton Flowers relies entirely on secondary sources and the interpretation of others philosophically and theologically. He is forced into this Provisionist box because antiReformation is embedded within the sales pitch.

He needs the hate follows because otherwise he wouldn’t have followers.
