14:10 after he disappears there, he is back into his very first cave and engages if you loot the chest again. Either he tricked us again or (what I believe) he is in his own NG+ (his dialogs start over again)

1. Completing Ruin-Strewn Precipice and defeating the Magma Wyrn will get you access to an alternative route to Altu Plateau.
2. Rya will be waiting for you on the other side (at the nearest grace) once you come out in Altus Plateau
3. After speaking with Rya, she will offer you to teleport you to the Volcano Manor

You don’t have to get the Dectus Medallions, and you have to defeat the wyrm anyways so this saves a lot of time if you plan to skip the optional steps.

Nice! I never got that cliff interaction because I got teleported to volcano manner through some other means, but I forget exactly what. I had no idea after defeating Rhycard that you could still find Patches. I'll have to go catch up with my old buddy in the keep

Thank you so much. I had killed old knight Istvan before starting the questline and was so worried I had messed it up. Turns out I just had to speak with Tanith to confirm my assassination.

It's worth mentioning that the quest lines covered here also intertwine with the quests of Rya, Bernahl and Diallos who all will show up in volcano manor if progressed correctly and all of them should be completed (or progressed out of volcano manor in Diallos' case) before completing the last assassination for house volcano.
I was a bit surprised to see that in the showcased run none of them were in their supposed locations at the manor.

The calm down gesture does indeed unlock if you talk to him after he kicks you down. I got it this way myself

If you don’t kill patches he goes back to mud water cave and you have to fight him again. Like the first time fight him and don’t kill him he will reopen his shop.

I am on new game plus 2 I completely missed every npc in volcano castle, no one was there when I got there 💀

If there a message locking the grace go back to the 1st grace of the cave and go back in it will spawn the adjective quest

If you reach the magma wyrm boss fight before going down this quest, you can actually summon Tragoth as an ally

U do get Calm down by the rainbow stones if u miss the 1st time returning after he pushed u off cliff
