It's either this, or you accidentally choose an option or piece of dialogue that locks you out of the rest of the quest forever without you knowing.

1 - give lady eyes to eat. She moves a little to the north without indicating the direction but at least isnt far
2 give more eyes, she moves just a little again.
3 more eyes. She dissapears without telling you shit, moves ten thousand miles, goes underground a sewer maze, after a hidden wall behing a boss battle, to the bottom of a pitt lower than the depts of hell.

3rd encounter: "You have lead me to a fate worse than death"

And to think this is the best case scenario. Alternative is he's in an obscure area or one you already fully explored 50h ago and have no reason to ever return to, and then when you do find him he's already dead (with no reward) because you met some obscure condition elsewhere

You're basically a courier with a sack of mail and no addresses. So you go door to door holding out your sack like "Yo, anything here look familiar?"

Dark Souls 3 had obscure quests, but Elden Ring is its own category of "You straight up can't do this without the wiki".

tossing it because it scales off faith and then going back to the long sword you've been using since character creation is PEAK Elden Ring.

Every quest is also like this:
"Hey, give this potion to Nepheli Loux, and DON'T ask what's in it."
"Okay, where can I find her?"
"Shut the fuck up."

Only part this misses slightly is the "I'm going on a journey to place.", go to place, they are not at place.
Go back and talk again "Oh, but before I go, take this. You'll have more use of it." 12 crystal moss.

Don't forget the classic "you COULD have gotten the good ending for them by speaking to them at least five times after exhausting their dialogue each time they change locations, have at least three Envoy Horns in your inventory, and have completed this other entirely unrelated side quest before handing over the key item. Also, the "good ending" is that they still die, but have an extra line of dialogue where they reference a connection with another obscure character."

Krenglus the Forsworn was actually the alter ego of Mogpie the Great, the redheaded 10-armed beast who fucked 17 dragons and destroyed an entire continent. Completing his quests unlocks the Chungus ending with a gray filter over your character sitting in a throne

Experience the epic questlines in elden ring such as, finding someone in the middle of fucking nowhere, finding them again in some other weird place, giving them an item, then you find their corpse slumped over on a rock
