UPDATE: As of Patch 1.06 you can now fully complete Varre’s quest OFFLINE. This involves a step where you invade and defeat a new NPC, Magnus the Beast Claw, at Writheblood Ruins in Altus Plateau. You can defeat Magnus the Beast Claw after you get the Festering Bloody Fingers, instead of invading 3 other players’ worlds in online multiplayer. Unfortunately I cannot retroactively add this step to the guide series, but it seemed worth mentioning.

As a father and someone who works fulltime, these video's are a great help! I know part of the charm of this game is exploring and figuring things out, but unfortunately I just don't have all that much time on my hands to invest in this game. So thats why I use this video for directions to locations and to do things in the right order. But I do like to wander of and do most of the exploration myself. Using the erudition gesture with the glintstone crown equipped at the converted erudition tower gives two pretty good sorceries- Gavel of haima and hammer of haima

I found some piece of useful dialogue: At 22:38 in the video, when traveling to the gate, you can rest at the site of grace. You will have an option to speak to Melina who will tell you only that it would be good to speak to our seamster, Boc. Boc will be there at that site of grace and you can give him the Golden Sewing Needle and have some dialogue with him.

im still amazed how people actually can find the right order to do these quests, if it wasn't for these videos, i would've never even complete half of them quests because the game is way too vague when it comes to what & how to complete these quest-lines in order

Personal recommendation for returning players. Doing Varre's quest ahead of time doesn't effect anyone elses quests and allows you to get a super nice rune farm! Its also completable offline due to the NPC invasions you can do.

Episode 1 took me 17hr30min to progress through.
Episode 2 took a further 17hr 15min.

This part was somewhat easier. I manages to beat the Loretta, Red Wolf, and Rennala on my first attempts; having my Claymore at lvl 14 helped I am sure.
It does make me giggle that you said not to grab it in the first video, but it was mentioned in the comments, thankfully.
While I’m still not having fun, the game is great.
Also, not sure why but I was never able to give ol’ boy the golden needle.

Been playing this game a long time. DLC comes out so I want to do all the quests and learn all the lore. Using your guide changed the entire game. Easy to follow and you still learn it all yourself just pause right after you say where to go.

If you're having trouble with the black knife assassin like I did, run to the mist then quit out to lose agro. D's gold summon sign is infront of the door and he can tank a lot of the fight for you.
