What can happen when you get a heart stent?

Heart stent and bypass surgery is not a cure.
Heart stents and bypass surgery are very important when you have a heart attack or acute coronary syndrome. There is a difference between heart disease, artery disease and a heart attack.
The ISCHEMIA TRIAL demonstrates that there are different ways to treat stable artery disease. And then there are important ways to treat unstable artery disease or a heart attack.

Suggestion: Forget what this guy says, or anyone else on YouTube. They mean well, but everybody has different needs, and there is no such thing as a one size fits all plan for heart cases. Instead, listen to a doctor that you can trust and feel confident about. That would be the best course of action.

Millions get these stents inserted in their coronary arteries and get back to their normal lives. How many have or are having problems with their stents and how many are or have not suffered any complications for years and years?

So 8 years ago when highly out of breath looking for my mother in law's hospital room, my wife sat me down and asked a nurse for a wheelchair. The next day I had 2 stents put in needlessly.

Thanks for the medical information about heart stent I got 1 in May 2021 with a 80 percent blockage in the main arteries after a stress test...every now and then I still got a little chest discomfort but nothing major my Cardiovascular doctor just took me off Brilinta a month ago they said it was best to finish off the remaining meds i had. I run, workout, every now a then eat alittle fried food but I don't over do it. But I was never gave an option

I’m 33 and got a stent last year. Today chest pains or discomfort isn’t in my life at all until i smoke a tiny bit of weed after not smoking for a long long time. All of the sudden i feel symptoms like chest discomfort. I believe being a heavy smoker of weed & an unhealthy diet was what got me a heart attack in the first place. These days i eat fruit, do heavy lifting jobs, hike & walk normally… Just wished i can smoke weed socially with my friends like i used to.
I sometimes believe it’s the stent causing those issues because before the heart attack, this was never a thing. 😢

I've had dbl bypass and at least 5 stents since then. A total of 7 trips to the cath lab. Last week, my artery was drilled open. They have 2 stents in that area. And don't want to place a third. What do I need to do here. I need a plan. I've never had a heart attack

Q: If a patient is not having a heart attack but has shortness of breath on exertion and chest discomfort, like stable angina would a CT angiography be best ?

I’m in this situation now. I have 3 blockages. 2 on major arteries. They couldn’t see through the calcium so they need to do an angioplasty to see exactly how much the narrowing is and decide from there.i agree with a lot of what this guy says but he hasn’t mentioned the LAD. This one need treatment. If you have a heart attack on that one you’re not going to make it to hospital. If I’m told this artery is 70% + blocked I abbé to take my chances with a stent. I’m terrified of the procedure and dying but I don’t think you can mess about with the LAd especially. I walk 10km a day and have been doing so for a year. I wy healthy (now) . It’s a shame but I need to hope things work out for me because by this time next week I’ll probably be in recovery (hopefully, please God)

Good day doc, glad that I found your video channel. As u mentioned blood vessels are muscle, how do we (patients) cure a damaged artery?

Can a small diameter of 2.5 mm stent in my proximal LAD artery with the length of 48mm be a little problematic in future or it is okay?

Should a person with evidence of soft plaque from a CT angiogram get a full cath and stent? I have absolutely no symptoms.

I wonder whether the speaker is an interventional cardiologist. Waiting for HA before getting stent is like playing Russian roulette. People don’t always make through a heart attack.

I had a stent inserted just a couple of days ago. My concerns are how active can I be without breaking the stent position in the artery. My Cardiologist said if it does happen I would feel intense pain and extensive bleeding. I do a lot of yard work and swimming. Now I'm worrying a bit about what limitations I should employ.

Good information, people usually take the easy way out and do the procedure, fast fix . Reversing the damage is long and hard work, diet, exercise, fasting, no alcohol, …. Not for everyone 😅

I have a feeling they will put a stint in the mourning. I dont think they will ask me if i want the stent. All i was told was they are doing an endogram, and if it needs a stint, then jecwill do it then. No discussion about other options
