My takeaway is that I hope I am never put on trial for anything. Ever.

No matter where you fall on this, I think we can all agree that Bubba and Cash the pup are the goodest boys.

Peter, As a Lowcountry local I find this case shocking. The Mudaughs are a well recognized family here & seem to be either hated or loved. Regardless, the gaps in the evidence are huge & I can't understand how any thinking person could therefore convict without a reasonable doubt. The older lawyer on your clip spoke to past legal experience with them & I'm sure he & many others in this state were happy to settle the score & bring down a dynasty. As a SC resident I question the ability to get a fair trial now that I've witnessed this case. VERY concerning.

I love your coverage of everything. You aren’t on anyone’s “side” you look at facts etc and use your best logic and legal knowledge to base your opinions. Do you know how that rare it is? I really appreciate it.

Any case with circumstantial evidence inherently requires speculation based on that evidence because we cannot know 100% what happened. The only people who know are the people who were there. We just have to make educated guesses based on what information is available.

Pretty sure the 20 minutes was referring to his time in the house with his mom and miss Shelly. She said it took a lot longer than usual for him to come in after calling. I think that’s the ten minutes.

I thought throughout the trial that Alex's father had the power not Alex. Everyone always called Alex's dad when there was an issue. I think had he still been alive, and well, when these crimes occurred and the trial took place, we would have had a very different trial and outcome. Alex was not his father, and he didn't have his power, but he thought he did and thought he could literally get away with murder.

Can’t believe that a blood covered man drive a golf cart back to the house and had a shower, yet no blood was able to be detected by forensic examination of the golf cart or the house. I’m thinking just a few drops is all they need to push him

Thanks Peter 💙 and something that NEVER added up to me in this case was the distance of Maggie’s phone of the road. Just a lot still doesn’t make sense and never will 😞

Please don't forget that if SLED would have been aggressive and locked down his home and Almeida immediately with a deep search then they would not have been able to get all 3 interviews with Alex. In addition, I am suspicious that some of the law enforcement crew were indebted to him in some way.

What that older guy said makes sense to me - about old Buster Murdaugh. That he would show up in courtrooms and sit behind the defendant to send a message. These powerful men didn't really have to say anything to get their point across.

I grew up in a small community that had a family kind of like the Murtaugh's and I can assure you, EVERYONE hated the power players in the family. It really was a case of working with them because they had no choice. This trial really reminded me of this. i think that the community didn't want to talk badly about the dead but also, now that he's not in charge and the whole family is shamed they can now speak out. I bet if you talked to members of the community now, they'd probably start speaking that way. Resentment of the power they held plus a bit of glee for the fall.

Prosecutors didn’t prove AM actually did the murders but they also didn’t remove doubt because of Paul’s vid. I was stunned it wasn’t a hung jury, to be honest.

Just because you can’t find where he hid the weapons does not mean he is not guilty !!!
