It’s interesting hearing your perspective of what’s said online. I’ve seen a handful of “lawtubers” attack people who are watching the trial saying they need to “go back to your lawn care job” or calling them wine moms, or saying that discussion on criminal law- true crime junkies-wine mom = 🚫 lawyer = ✅ is almost elitist because we’re not on your level. We want to learn and discuss hard topics respectfully, but instead there’s a handful of lawtubers and their diehards who attack opinions that different from their own and use ad hominems to argue bc were “too stupid to understand” Your dad said he didn’t like that social media had so many people saying their opinions who didn’t know what they were talking about, and I get what he’s saying… but law isn’t the only area people discuss things they don’t know about. Part of discussing is learning. I always appreciate your opinion - and your dads (great team) even though I disagreed with some of your takes. I’m not a lawyer but I’d like to think my opinion matters some, especially like you said were prospective jury. Hopefully that didn’t come off disrespectful, bc that’s not how I meant it. I just hate that either side is being ugly and deeply condescending.

No one adjusts to prison or jail. It is horrid. Some people have fewer bad issues with it. But no one enjoys it. Alex has overcome his addiction and is immensely grateful for that. And he's now out of the roller coaster of expectations put on him. But having your life controlled completely by others, with no privacy, with no chance to ever leave, is horrid, horrid, horrid, horrid in ALL circumstances. Never think prison is posh or nice to anyone ever, because it is not.

Hi Peter and Dad! I really want to know this: If a defendant insists on Testifying despite their own Lawyers’ objections or recommendations to not take the stand to testify…. who has the final say? (I would imagine the defendant does correct? but I keep getting confused by people saying “his lawyers shouldn’t have let him take the stand”…… did they really have a way to stop him?)
