The 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross Is A Value Packed AWD Corolla Cross-TREK

The @toyotausa #Corolla is the best-selling nameplate globally. With over 50 million units sold around the world, there's a good chance you owned one or knew someone who drove a Corolla. For 2022, the family expands with the AWD #ToyotaCorollaCross. Unlike the C-HR, the #CorollaCross has a more traditional SUV shape which gives it more space on the inside. #Toyota says the Cross is a direct rival to the Subaru Crosstrek and at a starting price of just over $22,000, it should become one of the best-selling vehicles in the segment.

Good morning everyone! Toyota is clearly going to sell a ton of these. Anyone looking at a Corolla will see this at the dealership for not much more money. It reminds us a lot of the first generation XV Crosstrek nearly 10 years ago. More space, capability, and a higher seating position over the Corolla hatch. No word on when the Hybrid will arrive, but when it does, it should be the same powertrain from the UX 250h.

I don't understand the "slow" critique, these suvs are clearly geared towards practicality, not race car drivers.

Honestly...the only guy I come to for vehicle reviews. Thank you for another great and information review.

I will never understand the desire to have soft touch upper dashes in any car and criticism of those that have plastic. Am I lying down on that? Am I EVER touching that? It's ripe for long term deterioration due to sun exposure. Also for the lower door panels...going to be kicked and need to be cleaned. And yet, reviewers always comment on it.

Man...I'd get the hybrid just to have AC when the engine is off.

Man it's a good thing you mentioned that "it's not a fast car and you don't expect it to be" and then talk about how slow it is throughout the entire review, the target audience of this car will likely never put their foot to the floor

I drive a 2000 Toyota Corolla CE and love the car. I will get a Cross just for the ALL WHEEL DRIVE! Plus the back seats fold down so I can put my Snowboard inside the car!

I definitely wait until year to see if Toyota offers the Hybrid powertrain, as sold in other parts of the word

People who buy this and the regular Corolla doesn't care about 0-60 times or turbos. They want reliable trouble free basic A to B transportation. I had a 2010 Corolla and it's was boring as hell but never had an issue. When I sold it with 200k miles the only thing I had to do was replace a brake light switch for $50. Still had the original battery.

Uber and pizza delivery drivers will love this for the practicality and gas mileage. They’ll hold their value well like the Tacoma, 4Runner and RAV4.

The hybrid version of this is gonna be insanely popular.

My boy mentioned the door close sounds not as a solid thunk rather a tinny slam. Gotta love his choice of words for the door closing sound.

i’ve sat in a lot of toyota corollas, and somehow the rear legroom is totally fine for me at 5’10’’. I think it definitely is has a comfy back seat. Might want to move that front seat up a little bit

Honestly I might have considered this vehicle if they had offered it sooner. I traded my 2019 Corolla for the 2021 Crosstrek (Premium Trim) to get that AWD capability. Honestly don't find much of a problem with the 2L engine, but I don't tend to drive it like a sports car, which when you drive like how I do you don't find it to struggle very much

The matrix was basically the station wagon varient of the Corolla...

We had a 2017 Honda hrv until it was totaled last Sunday. My wife loved the Honda until the wreck. She is ok, but the car did not hold up to the accident well at all. She said that the hrv is not in her list of cars after the accident, It did not have braking mitigation on that year. Looking at the 22 hrv, not much has changed in 5 years, they do have the braking now. I always felt like the Honda was cheap, very sluggish, leaking rear tailgate, just cheaply made. The cvt was terrible. We are looking at the cross now and the RAV4. Going back to Toyota. Thanks for the video !
