Is it just me or does anyone else find the whole “appliance” vibe of this kinda refreshing? So many cars nowadays are trying so insanely hard to get attention with overdone styling, gimmicks, etc. that it’s honestly kinda nice to see a car so comfortable in its conservative skin. It may be basic A-to-B transportation, but it does that well and it deserves credit for that.

Me and my wife just bought the 2023 corolla cross LE awd. I dont like cvt as well and i am just hoping this would last for 2 decades without a problem. I like the engine that has port and direct injection and a timing chain.

I was considering an XLE Corolla Cross, but opted for a (more refined/nice/comfortable) 2022 Mazda CX-30 AWD Carbon Edition (CE) crossover instead a few weeks ago. I wasn't very impressed with the 2020 TNGA Corolla SE Sedan that I traded in after 2.5 years of ownership, so I figured it was time to give Mazda a shot. No regrets. Plus, as an added bonus, the used car market is so upside down currently that my trade in was worth just as much as what it cost when I bought it new in Aug, 2019. Win-Win.

It a great car if you're looking for an appliance type of SUV that you want to buy new and not be worried sick once the warranty is over.

Test drove it. Wife is still running her 04 Matrix and compared to the Rav4, she prefers the ride of the Cross. It's got way more utility then the current hatch and is not as big as the Rav4. For her, it's pretty much an improved Matrix. Also, nearly two decades and still going strong says something... Just hopefully we can get our hands on a Hybrid 2023

What a wonderful review of a decent vehicle! In the real world, reliability and meeting expectations means something. Toyota does both. In the time I’ve had my single owner 2010 Corolla (2011-pres) all of my friends have gone through multiple cars. Not because they felt like it either. Other cars just don’t last with so little maintenance. Toyotas are often overlooked by magazines, but not by sales figures!
