Somehow I doubt squating and pressing 135 lbs dozens of times is for beginners

This is now my favorite video on the internet. Brother, I feel your struggle here. Keep pushing. It gets better.

They scale it to your fitness level. I am very overweight and I just started crossfit. The coaches are amazing! They won't make you do more than you can, but they will push you. This guy happened to already be in fair shape.

60kg squat thrust into a military press and burpie superset...  I've never done crossfit before but I find it hard to believe this is a beginner routine.  Maybe beginner level for someone who has actually been training gym and has a reasonable level of strength and fitness already, or has already been doing other more modest entry level work for a good few weeks.

The problem with crossfit is there all about doing things as fast as you can its all about doing your reps slow so you do them right I'm not saying do 1 rep every like 5 minutes but you don't go as fast as you can because thats when you make mistakes

Great vid. I'm going to try crossfit this year. I'm used to the normal weight lifting bench press squats. Curls etc. I'm starting slow and hopefully smart by not doing too heavy and getting hurt. The person looked rather fit and you could tell he was new at it. Smart guy he got a good trainer. Thanks for the vid

Back injury waiting to happen. Once the guy was tiring, he should use a slight lighter weight.

I decided I wanted to try crossfit, typed in "crossfit for beginners." I'm glad your video came up. It seemed like a great workout and I figured it would be good for my first crossfit workout ever. I just got back from the gym and am happy to say I completed 6 rounds + 7 thrusters (7th thruster was completed as time expired). It was a nice change from my normal lifting routine. The thrusters were tough but the burpees allowed me to recover. Looking forward to doing another one soon. Thanks

crossfit seems like a great way to lose weight or to display strength/power in a competition setting, but i will never believe that this is a safe/optimal way to train your neuromuscular system for absolute strength.  There is nothing safe in my mind about a beginner doing rapid squat cleans when their neuromuscular system has no experience with any of the primary barbell strength movements.  if you can't sustain proper form through a set of rapid squat cleans, you shouldn't be doing them that fast, or that heavy.  you can tell in his final reps his torso starts to lean way too far forward for a front squat because he is too fatigued and probably lacks the mobility to be doing that.  Maybe this guy does have experience with barbell movements, but i know a lot of crossfit beginners have no prior experience with a barbell.  Training these ranges of motions slowly and with heavier weight is definitely the safest way to teach your brain how to lift before you start doing barbell acceleration movements like this.  definitely seems like a fun sport, but i can't fathom how this is a safe thing to do for a beginner or an effective training program for strength adaptation

I am really impressed with this workout. Especially after I removed my bodybuilding glasses. It's prefect for lower body and all push muscles.

But still I wanna include a Chin up for a pull movement. Which is a good for biceps grip strength, rhomboids and lats.

What do you think the beginner workout routine will look like?

You don't take a nap when you are doing burpees. WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.

Anyone who hasn't tried this, no negative comments. This is the biggest reality check. I've been weightlifting steadily for 15 years, never felt like this after a workout.
