Functional fitness can be confusing when you start out - so many movements, abbreviations, acronyms... and which skill to learn first? In this video I cover the 5 (actually I sneak a 6th in there) most important and beneficial movements that all beginners should focus on:

0:00 Intro
1:00 The Squat
3:30 The Press
6:30 The Deadlift
9:36 The Pull-up
12:13 The Burpee (and bonus movement!)

Check out all of the above for in-depth demos, cues and variations to help get you started with functional fitness!

Yes please. More beginner content would be great. A couch to confident style video would be awesome. I’m 46 and over weight and see those doing CrossFit and instantly think “I can’t do that”. This video makes me think “I might just be able to do this”.

Yes, more beginner content. Even for those of us who have been going to CrossFit for years, we don't always have the basics covered. The handstand kick up to the wall is still my nemesis.

Loved this video! I am 62 and just joined a Cross Fit gym and feel quite overwhelmed when I go. Burpees are physically challenging for me. I love the weight lifting parts of the workout. Please continue making videos for beginners!

Yes! More beginner content! This is very helpful for those of us who haven’t been in an exercise program for years.
I’ve had one week of instruction at CrossFit and need more. I’m going to my first CrossFit class in a few days.

Those side by side comparisons of all the different presses just clarified soooo much for me. Thank you!

Just had my 2nd class! I love it…I’m 56 and looking to tone up. The pandemic left me unmotivated and a little “soft” so I’m excited to get back into it. I feel like CrossFit may be my answer. Looking for lots of beginner content. Thank you!!

I get so many questions from "mature" friends about "Crazy Crossfit"? You make it look very approachable - keep on!

I'm a 63 year old male and I've been working in an office for the last 20 years. Prior to going to the office I had a 52 inch chest 34 inch waist and ran 3 miles in 16 mins. I was in great shape. So I'm starting over to get back into physical condition. More videos for beginners is a great idea. Please provide them.
Thanks

Yes, I'd be grateful for more beginner content. I'm 57 with some muscle and strength however; I've been behind the computer sitting for far too long. Ready to get strong and fit.

I am hesitant to start crossfire because it can be intimidating. This video helped to alleviate some apprehension. Thanks. I vote for more beginners videos too.

Yes please, more beginners content!
I HATE burpies... but when you said "If you can't do burpies, then you are one step away from assisted living." That does kinda motivate me to do them more!! LOL

Yes!! I’ve been lifting weights for over 10 years but I need more cardio to my workouts.. this seems to combine them both and WAY more interesting than just cardio.
Love this info.
