The technique I’m doing is called Havening and it soothes the most reactive parts of your brain, stimulates the release of happiness chemicals dopamine, seratonin and oxytocin, and can even be used to release traumatically encoded memories from your amygdala which makes it one of the most effective trauma therapies I’ve ever witnessed.
This simple touch - rubbing your hands together, stroking downwards on your arms and rubbing your face create delta waves in your brain and down regulate your limbic system - and doing even just this 1 minute with me will leave you feeling more calm, centered and resilient.
And if you have 5-10 minutes, you can use it strategically to completely shift difficult feelings or stuck emotional patterns, and like I mentioned, using it with a practitioner can even help release major trauma patterns from the deep parts of your brain.
