Sola scriptura also assumes the printing press. Funny how that idea pops up right after it’s invented.

Its this easy peasy things in life. People want easy so they get attracted to some protestant beliefs without reasoning....lol😂

Sola scriptura is self defeating.

Between every human being and every piece of text is the wall of interpretation.

Until the day scripture becomes a concious being that can maintain its own interpretation of itself and enforce else has to.

This is why you have a boat load of protestants all claiming adherence to sola scriptura and yet thay all believe wildly different things about core pieces of scripture.

A beautiful refutation of that heresy, my brother.

you always show the truth of the holy faith in a humorous way...not that the Protest position needs more humor but it doesn't hurt

That’s a total straw man of Sola Scriptura. It’s not that God only ever reveals Himself through Scripture. It’s not that there is no other authority. It is that Scripture is the only authority that we can be 100% confident is infallible, so it is how we judge all other revelations/teachings.

If you aren’t going to engage the actual idea, then don’t engage at all

Just two days ago, after watching your rebuttal of James White on Sola Scriptura, I seriously began to meditate deeply on the SOLA SCRIPTURA issue and to ask myself: if Sola Scriptura were true, which New Testament book did Paul read in order to end up giving us the bulk of what we know today about Christian faith and theology, when Paul was not one of the original Twelve Apostles, and, so, never met Jesus in person, except in visions and private revelations? In fact, for Sola Scriptura to be true, Paul's epistles would have to somehow preexist Paul's conversion in terms both time and canonicity; an absolutely logical impossibility!

The lifeguard analogy on the Todd Friel rebuttal about the same topic is one of my favorite videos on this channel

Not believing in Sola Scriptura shows you don't really understand the scriptures. Are there truths outside the Bible such as 2+2=4? Yes. Can YHVH reveal a truth to a person that is a true thing but not in scripture such as receiving a word that someone needs your help or a word of knowledge about someone? Sure. But, the gospel is ENTIRELY throughout the scriptures of the old testament. The gospel is that YHVH married Israel at Mt. Sinai under the levi priesthood and just as he proclaimed, one day he would divorce Israel because the priesthood (not the law) was corrupt by mans' sin. So, Yeshua (god in flesh) completed the laws demand for the unfaithful bride (Israel) to be put to trial and death for her unfaithfulness and the husband(YHVH) put to death so the bride could remarry.... THATS THE GOSEPL. That we can now be married (one bride form Adam to the last saint of God) under the new priesthood that doesn't fall short. We enter the marriage by grace through faith and remain married by being in a relationship with HIM evidenced by our work. That gospel message was understood by paul and the believers before the "cannonized" Bible came around BUT that truth is/was already outlined and written down in the scriptures.... that's HOW the boreans knew the gospel preached to them was accurate. They could see that yeshua completed the law. The Bible starts with a marriage in Gen 2 and ends with a marriage in Rev.... The ENTIRE point of the gospel is the new marriage covenant. One where HE is the bride, groom, , and priest... all parties are completed by HIM and we receive that by being crucified in him and raised in him... That GOSPEL is in every book of the Bible and that is why Sola Scriptura is the truth.., . because the law is Life, Perfect, and The Truth.

It’s really quite simple actually. It’s called the telephone effect. I may whisper into your ear scripture, which is infallible and you hear it and you repeat it just slightly off though. God never promises to supersede The verbal word that we preached other people. However, He does promise to preserve his word which is scripture that is written down. God preserves scripture not we ourselves. That’s why tradition cannot be infallible because people are fallible. Tradition is very valuable, but only scripture is infallible. That is why sola scriptural is the only logical basis for Christianity. Because if I relied on you to give me what God says ultimately there would be a break in the chain, and there would be an error. However, God promises to preserve his writings in scripture forever. Jesus promises heaven and earth will pass away before his word would not come to pass. God bless.

It’s crazy to me that you believe this. 1st God did teach Paul yet Paul taught and argued from the scriptures. 2nd Jesus was God yet taught from the scriptures. 3rd this whole argument is dependent on an apostolic succession. We reject that. Paul may have been able to share directly from God but fortunately we know that when you all do it, it’s a joke.

I think you can also say that even if the gospels and epistles were written from the start that still wouldn't amount to sola scriptura because the Bible wasn't fully canonized until the late 4th century. Also, the canonization process begs the question as to how one knows which books were divinely inspired and therefore belong in the biblical canon which ones were not divinely inspired and don't belong in the canon. A question that protestants can't give an epistemically honest answer to without affirming the Catholic position.

Everything you just said wouldn't have been verifiable if Paul didn't write it...

Like bro cmon lol

It’s a good idea to at least understand what you’re trying to debunk. And if you really want to do a good job- understand the arguments for the thing you’re trying to debunk too. James white and Trent horn just debated this, interesting stuff.

How do you absolutely know who taught Paul? Wait let me guess, the scriptures. Also, according to your timeline you probably do not believe the first 5 books of the Bible are inerrant and infallible. Since Moses wrote them while in the wilderness. Doesn’t fit in with your little diagram.

For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways, ” declares Yahweh.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
And do not return there without watering the earth
And making it bear and sprout,
And giving bseed to the sower and bread to the eater,
11 So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth;
It will bnot return to Me empty,
Without caccomplishing what pleases Me,

Jesus always used His own words or that of scripture, to DENOUNCE THE CHURCH at that time, because the CHURCH WAS IN ERROR.

Jesus never pointed to the church as a teaching to follow. But the church was to follow what God said.

God's word is the sole infallible rule of faith.

Yeah, the Bible is the only infallible **written** text... Obviously if someone verbally teaches the exact same thing as what the Bible teaches, he is verbally teaching an infallible teaching.

Sola Scriptura doesn't deny that God pre-existed Scripture or that God inspired men to speak truths before they were written down in Scripture
