A church that is always reforming is a church where any doctrine is up for grab. Beautifully stated by Trent Horn during his closing remark in his debate with Gavin Ortlund on the subject, "Is Sola Scriptura true?"

You disagree with Protestant church A, you move on to another Protestant church B. And on and on.

This is the dangerous of being smart and curious human being. None of us can defeat the Word of God conclude none of us could change yesterdays.

Sola Scriptura is self-refuting and is anti-biblical- just like the protestant heresy is….

"If you don't have any living infallible authority"

That's how much he doesn't understand the truth of Sola Scriptura, Hebrews 4:12: "For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart."

So his argument is based on continual reformation? Isn’t that literally what the church does though (with the various councils). The early church fathers’ beliefs and modern day Catholic beliefs vary wildly

As a Lutheran, I would say ''What is that Church reforming to?''

To Scripture. And since, by logic and command of Scripture, the Church has the power to be a witness to its truth as the pillar and ground of truth, epistemologically / functioning speaking, any doctrine is not up for grabs. And to point to denominations as evidence of any doctrine being up for grabs is of no success because these same denominations who have vigorously  argued from Scripture is not evidence of the failure to maintain consistent doctrine. It is evidence that true doctrine is present within these texts, if it were not present than these denominations truly are working off of subjectivity which is obviously not the case since they bring forth an objective case that should be preferred over others. As for the ''Reformation Project'' it only works if you want conservative Christians to suspend their conservative belief and pretend that liberal theology is possibly the true meaning of the text. Unless you want to say that the mere fact they are trying to propose their ''theology'' is evidence but it ignores the common knowledge that there will always be groups that attempt to corrupt their given source. Protestants have answered by forming communions, outlining clearly what they believe.

Uau, just cuz there are a lot of denominations, doesn't mean all of them are right. Actually, if that's your whole argument, u think that it's more important to have tradition and church, than the WORD OF GOD.

Sola scriptura means that I only believe the bible and not the believes of the roman catholic catechism.

There is no such thing as a living infallable authority. It is a man-made acreation.

The farther you get. Away from the mother the farther you get away from God himself. Because mother mary is the holy spirit the Dove of the bible. Her only begotten Son is the Lamb

My friend, the bible is infallible. Anyone including the pope that goes against the infallible written word of God (and he has) is wicked. Protestants do not have a man who has that authority. That is dumb. If a body of worshipers go against God's word it is only because of lack of studying Scripture and obedience. I appreciate your sincerity but you are definitely ill informed . Especially coming from catholicism where the lack of knowing Scripture is well known.
