My cousin was in a similar situation (but her parents passed away). She quit her high-paying, but stressful, job as a senior executive in a Fortune 500 company and took ceramics-making class. Then, she started going around to retirement homes and teach senior citizens how to make ceramics. Financially, she’s making just a fraction of what she used to make, but she’s much happier than before.

Highly accomplished people can "stop working" but they typically can't stop accomplishing things. One of the very few virtues associated with having "money", is the freedom to choose the things you focus on accomplishing. Wealth, as it turns out, is no more or less than the confluence of means and opportunity; doing the thing you want to do, when you want to do that thing. It is incredibly freeing and empowering, when you reach that confluence.

Goals! Ive just paid off my cc's (against my friends judgements) and have left student loans and some old hospital bills. I can wait to learn more on investnent accounts and set my self up for retirement! I already feel better just not owing any creditors!

My sister is/was a doctor. After a decade of studying, exams, licensing etc, and five years of practising, she just stopped working at 33 and now I have a million nieces. I think she stopped being a doctor in order to take up getting pregnant as a career. Her husband is also a doctor though, so they're doing well. And in all fairness, she's a good mom.
