So I guess this is a homework question? Like how we supposed to slow the absorption of the magnesium???!

I just saw a video about taking Magnesium with choline citrate. It helps with the problem.

He just told us that the laxative affect that we are getting from magnesium isn't a laxative affect from magnesium. So when i take mag and get diarrhea it's not real because.... I'm starting to hear Twilight zone music.

I think his point is that you shouldn’t take it all in one go but small amounts throughout the day.

He said you want to do the opposite…slow down the absorption. What is that mean? 😅

Since this video is one of the worst on YouTube, let me give a brief explanation of the real solution to magnesium-caused loose stool. Most people who experience loose stool on magnesium supplements (not all, but most) are taking Magnesium Citrate (or some form of citrate additive). If you switch to Magnesium Glycinate (aka Magnesium Bisglycinate ... essentially the same as Magnesium Glycinate), for most people, the bowel problems stop. Magnesium Glycinate is absorbed in the stomach and is tolerated much better by the digestive system, whereas Magnesium Citrate is absorbed in the intestines, and - for most people - is not well tolerated by the digestive system. For many people (again, not all, but many), anything described as "citrate" may negatively affect the bowels.
