My experience is, even if you take collagen, eating a high whole food rich plant based diet w soy, , beans, lentils, greens (spinach, kale, broccoli) tomatoes, peppers, carrots, squash, citrus, berries etc...really imporved my skin and gave me thicker more youthful skin, and is helping w my hyperpigmentation. Modeling new collagen requires a multifaceted approach when you get older. I do both, and i look better than I did 3 years ago. I'm in my 6th decade.

Thanks! Finally a scientific take on the matter, while the market is flooding with slogans about collagen.

One need only look at middle-aged or older women who eat primarily plant based diets to see the results:
Cara Brotman (55), Natalie Imbruglia (49), Susanna Hoffs (65), Mimi Kirk(85), Annette Larkins (82), Karyn Calabrese (77), Carol Alt (63)

28% of collagen is composed of glycine. Vegan glycine is available. This is what I take: 1 teaspoon (about 10 grams) in my lunchtime smoothie, to which I add fresh parsley. Parsley, with its high epigenin content, is a precursor of collagen formation. I also add soy milk. You can also supplement with vitamin C and nettle.

I was always taught that Vitamin C produces collagen and this video supports that.

At 42 looking super young and thin because of a wfpb diet 🌱 I just wish they would take me seriously at my job .. as I don’t looked aged enough to look like I’ve had the life experience to know what I’m talking about 😂

I’m 58, longtime vegan, my skin looks great, so I’m told 😊
Avoiding sun exposure in my later years has helped
It’s the osteoarthritis that I was considering trying to boost collagen synthesis (I’m unwilling to consume animal collagen, even if it did help)

They ask me, "Allen, why do you look so young?" And I tell them. I tell them, "I've had an easy life!"

Massive salad and green smoothie everyday and I take the Sun Warrior collagen booster. Use dates instead of sugar. My skin is much clearer and more youthful than when I was eating SAD. Collagen powders taste like feet. 😂
