One more thing: Hydration hydration hydration!!! Pack a collapsing water bottle for your daily excursions and drink an extra cup of water per day the week before your flight!

I might add: Never buy new shoes "for the vacation" right before. If you have to buy them at least 6-8 weeks before and break them in walking a lot. No matter if that's normal or hiking shoes. Same with (hiking)socks. Also bring the most comfy shoes you have for those evenings where "your feet are killing you".

On a tangent; If you do get sick, don't be the person sneezing all over everything, and saying "it's ok, I'm on antibiotics." 🤬 Mask up, keep your hands to yourself, and do your best to isolate until you feel better. The rest of the group doesn't want to get sick!

Good points but my main issue is staying regular in the potty dept. All the different foods either cause a feast or famine of scheduled topic but it's true. Got to stay on schedule or you feel horrible when you're traveling about.

Wash your hands, especially before eating. If that's not possible- use disinfectant wipes (not just regular wipes).

Drink water constantly. Sugary drinks are not a good option when thirsty.

Have "supermarket meals" - yogurt, fruits & Vegetables, bread and filling for the sandwich.

And also pack right clothes! For example here in Finland you need warm clothes with you.

As a (much) older traveller I always have my prescription medication in my carry on luggage, don't want to risk it being lost.
Thank you for the helpful suggestions and reminders, Mark.

Make sure you check if you can drink the water before you leave. If you have to buy it, also be careful with raw vegetables and fruit, that's washed in water and ice cream. Safe travels. Love from Holland.

While the pandemic is over. I would suggest wearing a mask on the plane, bus, or tight confined area where you are more likely to pick up COVID or some other ailment you don't want ruining your trip. I wore one on a recent flight to Spain just to be sure I would enjoy my vacation.

I wipe down my seat, tray, buttons, and everything else with Lysol wipes before a flight. I do not touch my face with unwashed hands. Carry a ton of hand sanitizer too.

The thing I learned from traveling to South America was when I take probiotics I did not get any issues with my stomach, which was a common occurrence for me. I didn’t have this issue in Europe or Asia, but probiotics is now in my bag when I go traveling. Thanks for another great video!!

I highly recommended working out before going a trip, maybe a month before. Once your body is conditioned, then walking around a lot will be easy and less likely to get injured

I now mask up when in the airport, on the way to my destination. I got Covid on my way to Patagonia and it ruined the whole vacation. I also agree that leading up to the trip, I make sure to hydrate a bunch, stretch (so my muscles aren't too tight for sitting on the plane), and eat nutritious food. I want to go into the trip as healthy as possible! When traveling with kids, we always bring a thermometer, bandaids, kids tylenol, and travel packets of pedialyte.

Great Content Mark, I think you hit it spot on with sleep, it’s when your body repairs itself, if you do catch a bug it can heal while you are sleeping.😊

Check the rules of the country you travel to regarding medications, many which are normal at home, may be illegal in other places. Get a doctors letter for your prescriptions.

Perfect advice, Mark. I'd add some caution if youre traveling to an area that is a different altitude than what youre accustomed to. Go easy! Allow your body, breathing, heart to acclimate. And remember that going from high to low to high altitudes quickly can be problematic too. Stay within your abilities whenever possible and you'll likely remain healthier.

I always get a prescription for a zpac from my Dr before I leave the country just in case I get sick.

I would advise taking immunity boosting vitamins and supplements prior and during traveling. I believe this has helped me during my travels along with staying hydrated!!!!
