Are you tired of cluttered garage floors and constantly having to dig through your attic to find those storage bins and totes? In this video, I'll show you how to build your own overhead garage storage shelves that are perfect for filling that empty space in your garage with high ceilings. This project is super easy to build with just 2x4s and plywood, and can be completed in just one day.

I'll walk you through the design process, from measuring out the space and finding stud locations to cutting and assembling the frame. And if you run into any problems, like I did when I realized the studs in my ceiling weren't aligned with my design, I'll show you a quick solution that will keep your shelves sturdy and secure.

So join me as we transform your cluttered garage into a organized and efficient storage space with these overhead shelves. Let's get started!

Job looks great. Chains are a nice touch. I'm having a difficult time finding my studs overhead with a stud finder

What is the tool you used to carry the plywood off your truck?

very good and innovative. Can you tell me the dimensions of your shelves and your thoughts of not going the full 48" in depth? Curious as I am considering ramifications of a having shelves like yours - just 4' * 8' as that would save a couple of cuts.

It’s a lot of work, not going to do it alone
I need to hire some one.
What Would it cost to do something like this ?

What do you think the weight limit is?

Nice idea, but I wouldn't put too much weight on shelf( is SO easy to do) so you dont have a nasty surprise, if the eye bolts should pull out of ceiling stud🤔😊
you may utilize the wood on the wall by the garage doors, make a support brace, going from end of shelf to top of vertical board.

Very cool, thank you. What software or app did you use to design these in 3D?
