Light exercise, cut out soda, and eating off a smaller plate. I went from a 12 inch plate to a 10 and later an 8 inch. I park a few extra steps. I have gone from 405lbs to 245 still working on losing more. I drink coffee, tea and water. Moderation is the key. If I want an alcoholic drink bread goes out for a day.

As someone who was severely morbidly obese, what helped me was getting off certain medications, walking, and due to gallbladder disease, having to change my diet. I, over 8 years, went from a size 28 to a size 12, and kept the weight off. A handy tip.drink a large cup of water when you think youre hungry.also.use smaller plates.
Dining out? Take half your meal home.

A lot of the time, we eat just because we're bored. If you can avoid boredom, it's easier to stick to a diet.

I ate mostly vegetables with some fish and beef, only drank water and I lifted weights. I lost 60 lbs pretty quickly. I was obese according to BMI when I started (240) and had high blood pressure. My blood pressure got so low when I was at lower weights at times that my vision would black out lol. After the point I couldn't lift 20 lbs without blacking out, I stopped. I'm obese again (220), but my BP is in a normal range. If you want to lose weight, start changing what and how much you consume gradually and start increasing physical activity. I kind of went off of 2500 calories/per day (I'm a guy) and just ate when I was hungry and rarely exceeded that amount, because I just ate vegetables for a snack. The weight lifting helped a lot.

Some info that really gives good perspective:
>The average adult male burns 2500 calories/day just by existing.
>One pound of fat is roughly 3500 calories.
This means that if an average adult male only eats 2000 calories of food a day, they will lose about 1 lb every week. Giving them some wiggle-room for mistakes: that's about 4 lbs/month or 48 lbs/year. Just by cutting 500 calories a day.

I lost about 130 pounds, 255 to 125. I'm back up to about 140 now. It took two or three years to drop the bulk of it. Kept it all off for the past 7 years now. The things that worked for me were switching to tea instead of soda, actively watching the type and amount of foods I was eating, and 6 miles a day of biking then 12 miles a day of biking. Basically a change of general diet, regular exercise 5-6 days a week for years, and continued determination to lose the weight. Life is better when your thighs don't rub each other raw on a short walk.

Did keto for like two - three months, not even well. Didn’t count nothing and had more cheat days than I should of, just stuck to meats and cut out sugar in everything I drank as well as bread or anything with carbs. Lost like 40 pounds. Not doing keto anymore but still cut out sugared drinks and have managed to keep the weight off

It's all carbs. After seeing a picture of myself and how round my face looked from behind, I realized I had to lose weight. I slashed bread and soda. I drank coke Zero and ate red meat such as meatballs and sausage. I live in a small town so I walk everywhere and I push carts for a living so I burn off the fat. I had one cheat day for soda and I ate single orders of onion rings without entrees. Onions help burn fat. I lost 40 pounds in 3 months. I got too skinny from it so I diet more conservatively. My jawline is visible and my chest and belly fat is all but gone. I no longer dislike having my picture taken.

Amazed it wasn't ever brought up, but if you're trying to loose weight and aren't losing (or are even gaining more), you might want to get checked to see if you have a hypothyroidism. One of the things your thyroid does is control your metabolism, and if you're doing everything right and nothing's happening, your metabolism might not be doing its job. It's not an uncommon problem in women, and as soon as i started taking meds for it and continuing my regular lifestyle, i lost 10 pounds within the first couple weeks.

Lost 55 pounds so far by going plant-based, and calorie counting (1600-1800 a day), replacing and/or cutting down high calorie dense foods with low calorie dense ones so I can feel and stay satisfied. Trying to walk 10, 000 steps a day. MOST IMPORTANTLY, planning my meals and snacks so I am not tempted to cheat. I, unfortunately, don’t live in a very health conscious environment. However, I’m not home much so as long as I strategize properly I’m less likely to fall off the wagon.

Exercise doesn’t burn a super significant amount of calories but you feel sick if you eat like crap when you do it. So 30 minutes of moderate exercise a day is definitely beneficial. Weight loss is 90% diet 10% exercise but health is more like 60/40. Exercise helps indirectly.

My weight loss method is cut excess, replace, reduce, cut.

First remove any unnecessary thing. Mainly soda, juice (any overly sugary drink including “healthy” smoothies and mochas), and candy.

Find healthy alternatives that you like to unhealthy foods. Kale chips (bake em yourself it is REALLY easy and delicious) or three ingredient chocolate banana shake (frozen banana cocoa powder milk) are my favorites

Then start cutting calories now that your diet is sustainable longterm. Don’t start here or the results won’t last.

Some things just can’t be given up. Just limit it.
