Can you practice using tampons when you're not on your period? No, that isn't a good idea. You can practice using menstrual cups when you're not on your period. Try using a water based lubricant to help.

Im allergic to pads and tampons, so menstrual cups are absolute life savers! They never leak, never smell, never are visible, so much better for the environment, and so much more cost efficient.

Personally I can't stand the idea of putting something inside of my vagina so I prefer pads 💀 but this is a tutorial video MEANT for those who WANT to use tampons/menstrual cups. If you're not one of them just scroll through! why "ew I'm never gonna use that" like we're not forcing you to 💀

Honestly the cup saved my life, idk if there's an mental thing going on but i cant STAND knowing and /feeling/ that im on my period, I used a cup and only have to deal with it 1-2 times per days and I never felt wet ever again. God, I'm really glad it exists, it takes a while to get it right but when you do? It's amazing

Wow, as a pad user and a virgin, that menstrual cup looks crazy. 😅

Off topic, but few things are as romantic as changing my wife’s tampon for her, putting a warm steaming cloth on her lower abdomen, bringing her Midol and tea and rubbing her back, while she hurts through this process.

It’s gotten to the point that she almost looks forward to her (seriously painful) periods, as I pamper and take care of her so thoroughly. Sweet girl never even has to get out of bed.

No shame for pad users.
No shame for tampon users.
No shame for menstrual cup users.
As long as everyone is staying healthy and have access to what suits them best.

For y’all saying “i’m sticking with pads, ” how do y’all go swimming in your period? Also do pads not feel so squelchy and uncomfortable to you? I forget i’m even on my period with a cup, I can’t even feel it, and only change it twice a day.

As someone who only used pads until last year bc tampons hurt, menstrual cups are amazing and way better compared to pads and tampons! It's not as hard to use as it looks and you can't feel it inside. You also don't have to take it out as often, it minimizes waste, and it definitely won't feel like you're wearing a wet diaper like pads do 😂 menstrual cups rly made me feel like I was actually living in the modern world

To all the people who are scared/anxious with a "huge" cup inside them, trust me it's worth it once you get it right. Its highly economical, risk-free and leak-free (provided all sterilization and proper techniques are used).
It took me 2 years to mentally prepare for it and finally get it right. Now, I am loving it. Its comfortable girls!
Trust me, it will be worth it!

Whatever works for you, works for you. As long as it’s unscented, you’re using it as instructions read and change it when it needs to be changed to avoid TSS and yeast infections. I’ve used pads, tampons and period cups.

Will admit I stopped using the period cup after the first use but gave it another shot a month back and really liked it. Was also at the beach and didn’t want to deal with seawater being soaked up by a cotton menstrual product. I didn’t have leakage, didn’t feel it there and didn’t feel rushed to change a soggy pad or red-stringed tampon. Didn’t have to use lube as period blood and other…vaginal wetness made it easy to slip in. Takes a bit to get used to putting it in and taking it out and don’t think I’d ever be able to clean it in a public toilet—so that end I’d go tampon or pad. But some have more sensitive nethers or trauma where a menstrual cup would not work. That’s fine, it’s what worked for me.

But it’s great to have options! To accommodate your lifestyle and flow! Really hate when people insult those who use pads making them out to be dirty, when it’s what works for them. It’s great to talk about our own experiences, what works so that the industry can improve menstrual products but not when it’s just hating on a product as if it shouldn’t exist when it does work for some. It’s all about your comfort level and how you want to deal with your period—tampon, pad, period panties, cloth pads, cups or whatever.

As a girl that leaks every time she's on her period when using a pad, the cup was life changing. Tampons were always uncomfortable and the cup was much better. You do you, but I will say don't write it out just yet, it took me years to finally want to try one and I'm never looking back. If your reasons are that you are scared, I will say that it's your own body and it's always an upside to know how your body works. As long as your hands and the cup is clean, you won't hurt anything. (Though I will be more careful if you have long nails)
