How long should you wear your menstrual cup, tampon, or pad for? External options are mostly worn as long as they’re comfortable and not leaking. For tampons your max wear is 8 hours. For menstrual cups and discs you can wear these safely up to 12 hours.

I use "always pads". Very comfortable. I change the moment i feel it is full. For both safety, comfort and good hygiene.

Tips! I just got my first period, and i was taught plenty of tips! (Pads only sorry)

1. Laying down doesn’t make you bleed bad at all, but it does increase chances of cramps.

2. Put on your pad when waking up, and change it mid day, 2 - 3 times recommended :)

3. Fold up old pads in new pad wrapping paper, so you don’t gross anyone out. ( a staff didn’t do that And left the trash lid open. Gross)

4. Try your best to stay motivated

5. If you try to not let blood out it will take a LOT longer for your period to be done.

6. Its ok to cry, nobody stopping you, its natural.

It’s frustrating how my school doesn’t let you go to the toilet during the day (even at breaks, they lock them) so many people who get periods struggle to change their sanitary products :/

This is my first cycle using the cup and omg, it’s really made me question how much pads and tampons can really hold, usually I find myself changing them A LOT with my heavy flow. This made me think the cup would definitely be full when I wake up or when I empty it in the afternoon, but I was sooo wrong, it doesn’t even come close to being full the most it’s been is a little over half and that was when I didn’t get to empty before going to work. Ofc this is my first cycle using it so it might change, but wow this thing is amazing 😄
(Edit:) update, on my second cycle the cup got full (didn’t over flow). This was after wearing it for about 11hrs while working the first day (when my flow is normally the heaviest). It’s so great to be able to wear it for that long and not have to leave to change a bunch.
