YIKES! Ellen G. White Called Jesus a LIAR?!

Today we take a brief look at the foolish theology of Ellen White and test it against the words of the Lord Jesus Christ. Can man cease from sinning prior to the resurrected, glorified state? The Seventh-Day Adventist Church would say yes. But Jesus begs to differ. Let's take a look.

So you are saying we should sin?? With God ALL things are possible even coming to the point of not sinning. So I do not think that makes her a liar

@answeringadventism excuse me sir, where exactly does she, Ellen G White, explicitly teach or say that we ought not to pray, especially daily? I ask this because I learnt from her books of my need for Christ, I learnt that I ought to pray to God, through Him daily for help to walk faithfully and to live as He did. Now it is by no means a walk in the park but I can testify that through daily and conitual prayer to the Lord, I have been able to overcome certain habits that are quite frankly sinful. This does not mean, from time to time, I don't have temptations to fall back on the life I used to lead, I do, but I know through Christ who strengthens me, I can ask for help and He is faithful to help me resist the temptations of the devil and to help me walk in the spirit not the flesh. I believe and I know for as long as we're in this world, where sin and sinners abound, there will always be temptations but that does not mean I have to sin. Jesus is still our example (as Christians) and He bid us 'Sin no more', so again, I'll ask, if He, The Lord Jesus did believe it was possible to live a life free of sin, then why would He tell this to the adulterous woman and by extension we who read and belive in Him? I believe it is possible to live a life free of sin even in this world through Christ who strengthens me. This is what I have read & understood from her writings.

I am interested to know how you conclude Sunday is "The Lord's Day" from scripture?

Sanctification is a daily process; just like a baby does not learn how to walk from one day to another, but he first learns how to crawl; in the same way newborn Christians are like new born babies. And God is patient but eventually we have to grow up as a Christian and so our knowledge of truth. That’s how we grow up spiritually.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me. If anyone does not remain in me, he is thrown aside like a branch and he withers. They gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this: that you produce much fruit and prove to be my disciples.”

There are other her writings that we will have sins even in close of probation. Let me remind you that she says that "only God and Heaven are sinless". Her understanding of perfection is not sinless perfection but rather "perfection" in love. You can make Bible contradictory also (by that eay of thinking) by quoting some verses that seems talking about sinless perfection, for example:

"Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him." (1. John 3:6).

So, apostle John says that Jesus is lier? No.

May Lord bless you brother, and may Holy Spirit instruct you to preach true Gospel and not attack any religious movement, but rather uplift Truth as it is in Christ.

I believe Ellen Whites writings have been taken out of context. I'm not technically a Seventh Day Adventist, but do regularly attend a Seventh Day Adventist church. I can say out of every Seventh Day Adventist church I have ever attended, they do not believe what you are saying in this video. In fact, the pastors are the first to admit that they sin, make mistakes all the time and they need to regularly repent to Jesus for forgiveness as well as anyone they might have wronged. As far as Ellen White goes, I find her writings beautiful. They do not replace the Bible. The Bible is our only true source and Ellen White is always pointing people to the Word of God, not herself.

The Catholic Universe Bulletin said in 1942: “The Church changed the observance of the Sabbath to Sunday by right of the divine, infallible authority given to her by her Founder, Jesus Christ. The Protestant, claiming the Bible to be the only guide of faith, has no warrant for observing Sunday. In this matter the Seventh Day Adventist is the only consistent Protestant.”

The Catholic Virginian said in 1947: “All of us believe many things in regard to religion that we do not find in the Bible. For example, nowhere in the Bible do we find that Christ or the Apostles ordered that the Sabbath be changed from Saturday to Sunday. We have the commandment of God given to Moses to keep holy the Sabbath Day, that is the 7th day of the week, Saturday. Today most Christians keep Sunday because it has been revealed to us by the Church outside the Bible.”

Thomas Aquinas, a very influential theologian, wrote: “In the New Law the observance of the Lord’s day took the place of the observance of the Sabbath, not by virtue of the precept but by the institution of the Church and the custom of Christian people.”

1st John Chapter 3

1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

Ellen White did not call Jesus a liar nor the apostle John. What she advocates is the same thing we see in scripture.

Matt 5:48

1 Cor 3:5

1 Peter 2:21-22

1 John 3:6-7

We are not fated to sin. Any sin we commit is done by choice. Through the power of the Holy Spirit we can overcome sin and choose not to do it.

We will fall and when we do we ask forgiveness, but the goal is to not sin again.

It’s unfortunate to see people try so hard to misrepresent her words.

Oh and the Lord’s day is the Day that belongs to the Lord, and the only day that the Lord says is His, specifically, and declares is holy, is the Sabbath.

Peace and blessings to all 😊
