the research is interesting because it illustrates how someone can fire up their metabolism, without actually doing what most would consider “exercise”.

It leverages the unique properties of the soleus muscle which is designed to work constantly, without fatigue which is unlike most muscles in the human body.

Located on the lower leg, the soleus muscle runs from behind the knee down to the Achilles tendon. It makes up what is generally referred to as the “calf” along with the gastrocnemius muscle.

the research had participants doing the movement continuously for around 4 hours at a time and not stopping for more than 4 minutes during your soleus push up workout.

The duration is important, because if you simply did 10 repetitions of seated calf raises, you wouldn’t get the benefits that the research has identified from soleus push ups.

I would like to add something here. Knee should be slightly bent to avoid engaging the gastroc muscles. Otherwise doing this exercise can result in significant soreness and cramps. In addition the big toe should be placed behind the line drawn between the knees and the floor. This will ensure that you are targeting the soleus alone. Again this is a pilot study and I would still recommend doing light activity after meals rather than doing this exercise.

Amazing tip.. though doing intermittent fasting from 6pm to 8am and ekadasi full fasting. Keeping calories count and walking or exercise schedule is challenging. Such exercise tip will help a lot ..

Though it is very informative, I see that grasping the method of doing as explained was very tough to comprehend. Squats with heel lifts will also help I guess.

I have had persistent itching since November 2022 and got diagnosed with type 2 this March '23. I am on metformin following diet and an excercise regime. The itching though slightly better still drives me crazy throughout the day. Thyroid and blood allergen test looks good.
