The tooth ache I had after the procedure was far worse than before. Hurts like hell. Nothing mild about it. It has been three days since, and it is just now starting to improve.

You down played the recovery 100%! If you even hit the tooth with your tongue you get a pain that will knock you out your chair and this is coming from a women who had children with no pain meds

You’re totally down playing the recovery. I’ve had a few root canals, and while it is worth it to save the tooth, it is not a pleasant experience at all. Moderate pain/discomfort is normal for a week or two.

I experienced quite bad pain after RCT recently. It lasted over a week and chewing was particularly difficult. The dentist checked the area and said everything looked fine, though the gums were obviously sore. The procedure on a canine tooth took 45 minutes, which to my mind is a long time to be subjecting the tooth and surrounding tissue to very invasive drilling, probing and pushing. I used Sensodyne Rapid Relief toothpaste frequently with a kid's very soft brush and took paracetamol occasionally. I also switched to eating only soft foods for several days.

Don't down play the recovery. I'm still in pain and it's been 3 days. I'm currently pregnant so I can't take anything but Tylenol. The worst pain and recovery.

I am on my 2nd day and it Hurts, I had two done, the worse thing is I am allergic to Ibuprofen, so I am taking paracetamol 1g that helps with pain for 6 hours..but then sgain and got headache

I had one on Monday-3days ago and still in pain trying to take ibuprofen every 6 hours, around the clock. He’s definitely downplaying the recovery time and how long it takes to recover. Just be honest!!!!

Root canal is a bitch. I had to have a retreatment cuz the first one had an infection so it was already in pain and now I’m in so much pain the day night of the redo I went at the night clinic begging for a antinflammatory shot. I had that which it helped tons and antibiotic for 10 days due to the prior infection. I rather give birth.
