What happens if you lose to Starman Jr in Earthbound? #shorts

In Earthbound for SNES, did you know it's actually possible to lose to the first boss fight in the game, to Starman Jr? To do so, you need to level Ness up to Level 12, this is going to take a very long time. If you do this, at Level 12, Ness will learn Shield Alpha, and he'll be able to overwrite Buzz Buzz's Shield that he uses to protect the party. Then Starman Junior can actually hit Ness with his powerful PSI attacks. So what happens if you lose this fight? Basically you load from the last place you save which is after Starman Junior, but if you go back to where the fight was, you'll see that you skipped the fight, and missed out on the dialogue that would happen after the fight. The game proceeds as normal. Isn't that time well spent?
