Insulin is Overrated
Some state this is the game changer, but for those that have used this they will know this is not the case.
Insulin is “anabolic”, which simply stated it promotes a “growth” environment.
Insulin can shift metabolic pathways to storage and shuttling nutrient this will be towards body fat and skeletal muscle.
Insulin though, simply opens the door via the insulin receptor to then shuttle in glucose and amino acids which then “turn on” protein synthesis and decrease protein degradation.
MOST will have completely adequate endogenous insulin production to fulfill all needs. We have endurance athletes eating 100s of grams of carbs per day, no problem with running out of insulin.
Where we see a need for insulin is when challenging insulin production levels to that of diabetic ranges and this is seen in exogenous HGH usage at supra-physiological levels. Just using HRT level of GH this is still not much of a concern.
Exogenous insulin might have a role here to offset the challenge you are placing on beta cells. This is theory based from diabetic research as we do not have this data in our population.
Many even then still don’t need this as we have athlete studies using 8+IU and still keeping excellent insulin sensitivity.
The biggest issue I see are guys eating more food with insulin, rather than matching insulin to their current intake. Then they get really fat and watery and training goes down hill fast.
So who needs insulin? What else does it do? There is ALOT to take about here and why I have a 2 hour HGH lecture covering all of this in the new Level 1 PED course. Coming out in 2 days.
