10 year lifter. Struggling with acne my whole life. Giving up dairy definitely made an improvement. Recently decided to also give up creatine. Main protein sources are chicken, nuts, and fish. I try to keep my diet low glycemic because insulin increases sebum production. Come to think of it, basically everything increases sebum production if you're prone to acne. My genetics are in the fucking dumpster.

A more in-depth video on this would be greatly appreciated. I’m super skinny by default and fitness has been a huge confidence booster for me, whereas acne has obviously been bad for that (and my acne is severe). Your channel has been indescribably helpful for me so some further exploration into the correlation between fitness and acne would be awesome :)

when you reference the first study about increasing calories that will increase your insulin. This is only if the calories you are intaking spike your blood sugar too quickly. In other words eating Low GI foods wont cause such a spike and hence wont cause the increase in breakouts. To say that just "in-taking more calories" will increase insulin is definitely true. But it is the spike in insulin in such an abrupt manner that causes the breakouts. This is how diabetics gain mass.

I haven’t noticed if you talked about your back at all. Most of my acne scars are on my back and just now I’m looking for the best DIY things to lessen the scars

I really appreciate this video. Ive come to the conclusion that the gym and being in a caloric surplus definitely plays a role when it comes to your acne from personal experience, and it’s nice to see that this video backs it as well and goes into depth. 💯

I'm not sure if you've already done this but I think you should make a video on maskne (mask-acne) due to COVID-19

I knew there was a link with exercise and acne. I thought it was to do with sebum. It's raising testosterone and diet will alter things, too. I rely on Benzoyl Peroxide and to avoid slowly beaching hair, I use an antibiotic liquid with alcohol called Zineryt on the scalp. Cleansing at night helps control acne.

Right now... it's weird. Working out and maintaining muscle my acne is getting better (dry skin, so the extra natural oils is helping!) But because of Covid and wearing a mask 9hrs for work then 2 more hours at the gym is causing awful break outs... 😫
