No line from Hoarders has ever hit me harder than “this is a den of grief and sadness”

I lost my fiancee, my mother, my dog, my really good friend like a bro, and had to give up my real brother.... all in a row 2015 to 2020. I started hoarding to hide myself from the loss. I couldn't accept it. Now the house is cleaned out and sold and I'm doing much better. Can relate to these sad people. They have my prayers!Amen.

First of all the daughter, Melissa, in the first episode needs to be hired, off the rip 👏🏽💯 The way she called her mother‘s father and just had her mother, Carmen switch into gear was immaculate 👌🏽

Christina: *tells legit reasons for a psych breakdown and why she might be a hoader.*
Guy in her life: "I, uh, think it might be that she's possessed by the ghost of a young boy."

And the award for dumbest excuse goes to....

Her daughter really articulated what her house turned into. “A den a grief and sadness”. That is terribly sad. Just heartbreaking. Her dad said some beautiful words too. I hope she was able to work through her grief and loss so she could go through the rest of her life happily.

My heart really broke for Carmen when she told her story. To finally be reunited with your first love- and then to lose him so quickly- it almost seems beyond cruel. But she did get that precious time with him.
After he passed, and after she lost her job, I could totally relate to her situation- how she felt so alone, so sorrowful, so hopeless, in the dark place she was inhabiting. One of the few hoarders that really touched my heart, and I felt like it truly empathize with everything that happened to her and how she ended up where she was.
Her father’s call was so deep, so meaningful. That man loves his full-grown, heart-broken, ‘little girl’. Wow.
Carmen must be a good woman, so many people love her. I hope she is doing well now.
Carmen, if you see this, know you are an incredibly strong woman. Stronger than I could ever be. God Bless you, every day, every hour, every minute.

Carmen and her family is one of the most articulate groups I have seen on this show. They are able to express themselves so well

Viki's daughter broke my heart! Her emotions were so raw and you can tell she seriously just wanted a clean house for her mom and brother! It broke my heart how mean her mom was to her! I really wish the best for her

That one screaming lady, go ahead and call CPS, the hoarding is the least of this lady’s problems. That little boy deserves so much more, poor kid was probably praying for someone to get him out of there

Due to chronic depression I became a hoarder in my early 20's to mid to late 30's.
Watching hoarders as often as I could have me the mental determination to clean out my house and my life.
I am proud to say that I make progress everyday still.
I do have my moments, especially during my depression episodes, that I fall off the wagon. Now it's just easier to clean and straighten up once I feel better.

I just REALLY feel like a shoutout to all the cleaners, junkers, and organizers is so warranted. Like those people are dealing with the worst filth people offer up, and they do it in a compassionate way, and then they take these peoples items and set it up lovingly, beautifully, and gently. I just want to say to every single one of the workers involved in this type of clean up and organization, that despite the fact that your jobs may be a thankless one to a degree…I see you and I’m so impressed and think you’re all amazing. Carmen’s crew highlighted that to an unreal extent, but in reality ALL the crews are fantastic.

Seeing Jan crying at the generosity of strangers made me cry so much. Sometimes we do forget that. Bless her heart.

Bless that man who donated Connie’s new home!!! That trailer was probably traded in for about $5k, but to her, it was a pristine and priceless. I hope she kept it nice and clean.

That guy that gave her a trailer to live in... what a decent generous good hearted person.

God bless Melissa and Carmen. Carmen, despite everything, clearly raised a wonderful human. I’m so glad Melissa and other family members were there for Carmen. It really felt like a family effort with this episode 🥰

It’s lovely to see a really nice person like Carmen who appreciates her family and those who rolled up their sleeves to help clear out her hoard. She’s a lovely lady and it’s so refreshing to see someone who is trusting and kind. I wish her all the best for her future.
