Many people tend to skip out on single leg strengthening but it is truly so important- especially for activities like walking, stair climbing, running etc 👀
Lunges are a great way to work single leg strength. To me, reverse lunges feel the best which is why I choose them.
Lunges tend to get a bad rap because they can cause knee pain when your body isn’t ready for them ☝🏽
It’s also a movement that requires a good leg warm up to get the knees ready ✅
IMPORTANT: this video is not saying to go out right now and everyone do weighted lunges. It is so incredibly important to gradually work up to them which is why I included 4️⃣ modifications ⚠️
Master each modification, meaning you complete the exercise easily and without pain before moving on. These modifications are not meant to all be done at once 👀
I personally take leg strengthening very seriously and although strength training can’t prevent absolutely every injury and condition it can make you such a resilient human 😍
There is extensive research backing the great benefits of strength training and this is simply one movement I like to prioritize for lower body health 👍🏽
