Lmao even if not mistranslated, these aren’t bad at all. I’m a native Chinese speaker and usually pretty serious about sexism, but you gotta understand, on Weibo everyone is making sexual jokes. Women (me included) are often joking about having an “phantom e**ction” when seeing hot characters. Ofc guys can joke about it too. It’s just a Weibo slang/meme. I love how people from other cultures basically treated our internet culture exactly like theirs, accusing these devs of sexism by being massively egocentric.

Now. Can Chinese devs be sexist? Ofc, it’s East Asian culture plus a developing country, plus a traditionally male dominated field, what do you expect? But these posts ain’t it and people are overreacting to some mild cases. Just don’t buy the game, or give devs feedbacks to help them improve. If you have to start a war on social media, I hope it’s about how DV isn’t even a crime in China, or how wife buyers get zero jail time. Too much of a third world problem to be interesting? Figured as much.
