Fun fact: he wasn't killed by Erlang in this fight. He killed himself cuz he's immortal, only wukong can kill wukong. Erlang played along to help wukong in order for wukong to get rid of the headband, which was granted by Buddha to Tang Monk to control the monkey.

I've finished the game, and it's truly amazing. Wukong just wants to be free, as long as he has the headband on he'll never truly be free and under control of Celestial Court forever.

Here is another interesting fact for you all. In his youth Sun Wukong was part of a group formed by seven sworn brothers. After he gave himself that title, all the other six also gave themselves similar decorations, each starting with "Great Sage". The Ox king, for instance, was the "Great Sage Who Pacifies Heaven".
