China’s first triple-A video game Black Myth: Wukong was released on August 20, 2024. The industry’s informal triple-A classification signals a high-budget production distributed by well-known publishers. The game has been topping US distributor Steam’s “wish list” chart for months, but not all of the interest generated has been positive.

Wukong is a Chinese story. So what if it does not cater to American wokism? Chinese culture is Chinese, period. If Americans don’t like it. Then don’t play the game .

American:" We welcome diversity and embrace different types of culture.
China: "Here's our culture, an amazingly faithful representation of it.

There are no controversies, its purely activists that are posing as game journalist that are trying to smear the game because their DEI garbage was rejected.

What? You want indians, black, Jamaicans, mexicans, white, eastern Europeans, and japanese to be in the game? To be diverse? Makes no sense

Controversy? Oh, please. It’s just another instance of so-called game "journalists" throwing a fit because they can’t comprehend that this game is based on Chinese folklore, which clearly doesn’t align with their forced diversity. Instead of appreciating the game's quality like its gameplay, physics, and storyline, they're busy whining about the absence of black characters and such, as if every studio has a magical diversity box to tick.

Eastern devs: We know what you want and we will give you what you want.

Western devs: We know what you want but we will give you what we want.

1:29 "A lack of diversity or inclusivity"? In what? The characters? Or the staff? Either way, the game is meant to be as close to the original story as much as possible, which the main characters are all male. And the staff? Since when were there a lot of women working in the gaming industry to even be hired?
