How to See Ancient Rome in a Day Without a Tour Guide

We spent the day visiting the tourist highlights of Ancient Rome--including the Pantheon, Roman Forum, and Colosseum! Thanks to some planning and the free Rick Steves' audio tours we were able to do this without a paid guide and at our own pace for only 18 euro a person for entry tickets.

I love the idea behind this video! You can get caught up spending SO much money through tours in cities like Rome, when options like Rick Steves' guides are a fantastic alternative that can really boost a travel experience without hurting the wallet😅 Keep up the good work guys! Love the channel!

Great Location for your hotel. We really hope to visit Rome one day. So much history. Wow, a month in advance to book your ticket is quite a long time ahead. 6 Wonders of the Modern world checked off is very impressive!

I always did something i was a little not ready to do. I think that's how you grow. When there's that moment of, 'wow, I'm not really sure I can do this, ' and you push through those moments, that's When you have a breakthrough.

We didn't tour the Colosseum when we visited - but I guess that means I just have to go back to do that. Great list of things to do there.

That's a lot of walking around in a day! We also stayed near the Pantheon. Using Rick Steeves guide was such a great idea to get some context while looking at these historical sights. I found the Roman Forum a lot to take in as well, so many different notable buildings and sights. Congrats to visiting 6 of the 7 New Wonders of the World! Only Machu Picchu is left right?

I like the Pantheon the most out of the places you visited, the occulus fascinated me. Queen Margarita, after whom the margarita pizza was named, is buried in the Pantheon. I love acquiring these useless bits of information in my travels!😀😃
