There is such undeniable beauty in both the pagan statues and the paintings. Both of them crafted specifically and lovingly. Each artists awe and reverence for their God and god's is almost palpable.

Rome is amazing! The amount of art in the Vatican is almost dizzying and overwhelming. Hope you are having the best time!

Literally, i have never payed to much attention to art.
This channel his top tier. Really gives you all the backstory and notes, helps you understand so many things.
They no just pretty paintings and sculptures, it's a visual represention of history.

My grand shallow ocean of knowledge has just expanded a little more and acquired the wisdom of how deep the art trench goes into the abyss

As a Christian I really appreciate you sharing this perspective. I never thought of the Vatican that way

Its always graceful to see these paintings, statues of our gods. It makes me proud to be a hellenic pagan even if the christians believe they triumphed.

You made me go back and dig up Hypatia again. I love her story and her heroism to be included in an academic space where it was unheard for a woman to be in Astronomy and mathematics. How she was killed by the new Christian sect while Alexandria waged in war between Christians and the Pagan Roman sect. Eventually Pagans of Rome morphed into Catholicism much later. But I watched her story that was played out in the film with Rachel Weiss. I’m planning to watch it again of course. But I also went back to calculate the dispensations of time between her time and Jesus Christ cruxifixion and resurrection, all four of the Crusades, including the fall of Jerusalem under Saladin, Constantine, then the Ottoman Empire taking Constantinople, and so on. All of this was sparked from being inspired by your one Art history video👍🏾

My favorite is how I heard apparently the story of Saint George slaying the dragon was an allegory that Christianity slew paganism and saved Europe from it’s clutches ie the Princess.
