Ideally we shouldn't kneel in front of any saints statues to pray. Why running away from the Father, why running away from Jesus, why running away from the holy spirit and praying through saints. If we are truly repentant of heart, to sin no more and trust that the Lord will answer our prayers, there really isn't a need praying through saints. Our Lord says come to me though your sins be as scarlet....

No Catholics do not worship statues. They just bow before them, pray directly to them ( while saying it's just a "reminder"), and in the case of sa many Catholics, call it "blasphemy" if a statue is vandalized. Your decoratate these statues with flowers and other adornments, bow before them, and pray before them. And you wonder why non-Catholics say you pray to statues?

The purpose of the Catholic Church was to turn Christianity into idolatry. The Bible is very clear about not having any idols. They are 100s of gods and religions out there that will fool you! and all of them have an idol, but is clear that the Father the Son and Holly Spirit had already a place reserved. Before common ppl were literate, we needed iconography to elaborate the gospel.... I like the original iconography that Orthodoxy still uses but Saint Gideon tore down a pagan altar and re erected it for the Lord . Shows it's ok to me

Fun fact, when God was telling the Jews to build the ark of the covenant, He, Specifically told them to put two statues of cherubim angels on each side as a command, the statues are meant to give a reminder and put a little bit of heaven on earth, also, God commanded Moses to build a bronze serpent so that if you looked at it, then you would be healed

Statues/icons ground us in reality and center our focus in the present. That is all. What omnipresent God would only be present in a single statue?
