The difference is. He instructed Moses and established the act of the covenant. We should do what he says. But he said do not make and worship statues. He said don't. Here you have it

2 Kings 18:4
New King James Version
4 He removed the [a]high places and broke the sacred pillars, cut down the [b]wooden image and broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made; for until those days the children of Israel burned incense to it, and called it [c]Nehushtan.

It does bother me to see Catholics reverencing statues, such as kissing them. Apparently some feel it brings good luck. I think parish priests should discourage this practice.

If you think that your worshiping the images it’s your mind but if you put in your mind and heart that your praying to Jesus Christ and Holy spirit then your to God.

Wrong. My neighbors worship the statues. They have a wrong belief even if they are Catholics.

1st chronicles @ is not the same, not even close to what Catholicism does with images! They were not idols for worship. Because the officiating priests saw the representations of the tabernacle interior and, later, of the temple interior. No one but the high priest entered the Most Holy and that only on the Day of Atonement. (Heb 9:7) Thus there was no danger of the Israelites’ being ensnared into idolizing the golden cherubs in the sanctuary. These representations primarily served as a picture of the heavenly cherubs. (Compare Heb @, 24.) That they were not to be venerated is evident from the fact that the angels themselves were not to be worshiped.—Col @; Re @; 22:8, 9.

Some images in time became idols, although not originally intended as objects of veneration. *The copper serpent that Moses formed in the wilderness came to be worshiped, and therefore faithful King Hezekiah crushed it to pieces. (Nu 21:9; 2Ki 18:1, 4) The ephod made by Judge Gideon became “a snare” to him and to his household. - Jg @.*

Another thing God told Moses who acted as a mediator to have the Ark of Covenant made with two golden cherubs mounted on top. It represented Jehovah Presence (Ex @; Le 16:2). And only the high priest actually entered the Most Holy and saw the Ark of Covenant one day a year, not to communicate with Jehovah, but in carrying out the ceremony concerning Atonement Day (sin offering).—Le 16:2, 3, 13, 15, 17; Heb 9:7. It was not out on display for the public to see! The Ark of Covenant is not needed anymore for Jesus' sacrifice ended the Mosaic Law and thus blood sacrifices are no longer needed for his sacrifice was perfect.

If you bow down to any image to venerate it (even a picture of your family) then it idolatry!

Catholicism has made many images not to tell a story but to bow down to and even kiss man-made images, give the sign of the cross in prayer and even pray to saint and human remains known as skull worship.

Jesus as a mediator and head of the true congregation like Moses gave no such instruction to create any type of image to use in worship to his God and Father. You have totally misapplied the scriptures!
