Everybody wants a shot at the champ. Truth is not divisive, but misrepresentation is. Keep doing what you’re doing in the way you’re doing it. If calvinism is false (and it is), then this PART of your ministry is of massive importance to the body of Christ. Blessings, Leighton.

I’m so thankful God didn’t decree for me to be a Calvinist before the formation of the world

Don't worry about being longwinded, it doesn't bother me a bit! I enjoy a good two or three hour broadcast, especially when the content is good!

Leighton, we need specialists in Christianity in order to train up the body. Don't apologize or excuse what you do or how much time and effort you spend on the Calvinism issue. It's an important one, keep on keeping on unapologetically.

This podcast/YouTube channel is a rare resource for those of us who are not satisfied with Calvinism or Arminianism as a framework for Soteriology. He contrasts "provisionism" with other views, so no he is not ganging up or being decisive about Calvinism. He is giving people like me a way not to be steamrolled by reformed Christians.

I look up to you for always remaining humble even when these calvinists come off as a bit smug toward your theology

I have a hard time fellowshiping with Calvinsts because I hold Calvinism teaches a different gospel than scripture. The true Gospel is this, God loves all, died for all, calls all genuinely, seeks to save all, promises all can believe and be saved and commands all to repent. To preach anything contrary is to preach a different gospel, is it not? Calvinism teaches that God is the first and ultimate cause of all sin, where I hold the opposite that God does not tempt nor cause anyone to sin but commands all to flee sin, are these the same God?

Apparently question-begging was also divinely decreed before the foundations of the world. 🤪

I wonder if they apply the
same rules of interpretation to the following phrases:

“It rained cats 🐱 and dogs 🐶,
He kicked the bucket,
Her heart broke into 1000 pieces.”

Without knowledge of idiom, metaphor, et cetera, exegesis always turns into isegesis.

Keep up the good work Dr. Flowers!

Hey Wil Hoffmann, I know you probably won't see this but I was excited to see that you would be willing to come into the chat! That's such a good sign for brotherly dialogue.

I never understand why Calvinists (I would think 95% of them) always have to speak with arrogance and sarcasm while wearing their fat books behind them and their long beards (and some a Cuban cigar "for the glory of God"), don't they teach themselves to imitate Christ? What of "Christ" do you see in a person who speaks mocking, attacking, insulting, and speaking in an arrogant tone against others who do not think the same? Is that imitating Christ?

First! Also, you mispronounce words beautifully Leighton 👌😂

Paul says in Romans Ch.7 that he was alive before knowing the law. Wouldn't this imply that he was NOT born already dead? Just something that I'd never thought of before, and I'm curious how a Calvinist would answer that question

For a Calvinist to assert he doesn't believe Calvin's god determines what choices he will make - is to deny the very underlying foundational core of what makes Calvinism unique.

"Whatsoever comes to pass - is infallibly decreed at the foundation of the world" is not found in any other Christian theology.

The term "Whatsoever" is a UNIVERSAL term - which means "Without Exception"

Hence:
Whatsoever *CHOICES* come to pass within the Calvinist brain - are determined at the foundation of the world.

That LOGIC - should be simple enough for any adult mind to grasp!

First this guy says - Dr. Flowers misrepresents Calvinism in his book - by saying that Calvinists sometimes equate DEAD to "Corps Like". But then he challenges Dr. Flowers to prove DEAD does not mean "lifeless" - AS-IF "Corps like" and "Lifeless" don't equate to the same thing???

Geez these guys are all bent out of shape because you're knocking over their sacred cows.

Thank God I'm not a Calvinist. These guys are insufferable.

43:58 "Strong's concordance tells us dead, literally or figuratively."

Talk about hardening your heart to the word.

It is quite a leap of logic to assume paul means that our being dead in trespasses and sins means that like dead people we are unable to do anything. This is an unmerited leap.

These guys can say whatever they want but they don’t want to go against him in a debate. Truth always exposes error!

Genesis 4:6-7
6 ¶ And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Sure does sound like God is telling Cane that he has the ability or free will to make a choice. 🤷🏼‍♂️
