If you're buying a car off the lot don't pay for destination fee as it's already there.
For a new order ok

Remember, if you finance instead of pay cash, you’re FINANCING those fees. You aren’t just paying the flat prices on the sheet. You’re paying interest on all of them. It’s more expensive than you think.

As a former salesperson, we had to tell the customer that the doc/administration fee was non-negotiable. "If we take yours off, we have to credit back everyone we've ever sold a car to." SLIMY

They tried charging me 2500 for window tint and paint protection ona truck i bought told them to take that off, the giy tried arguing with me about the tint.... i used to install tint and know the difference between stained glass and film!!!! If there is a charge for that on your next purchase, roll the windows down, if the glass looks black where its cut, the glass is stained that way, if it is clear then it has film applied, dont fall for an extra charge folks

When I bought my truck the dealer tried to charge me $900 for a Clifford alarm, $300 for the stereo and $400 for the power locks and windows...that the previous owner had installed.

Just reserved a 2025 Camry at a dealership and they tried putting on $1300 in add-ons. Got them to take off the "protection" package, but they wouldn't budge on $300 VIN etching. Got up and and walked out, and had the guy flagging me down as I was driving out to tell me they'd take it off.

Thanks so much i was about to buy a 2019 Range Rover Sport with 36, 623 miles on it. I called the dealership to know moee about the prep fees & dealership fees and all of a sudden i put them on the spot. The manager was in a meeting it took the salesman 5 minutes to tell me that. I am getting my Range Rover Sport From a Land Rover dealership...life saver..

Don't tell them to remove the fees. Add them up, and update the car price minus all the fees. Tell them you will pay that number and even initial it. I wouldn't go over $100 for a doc fee.

In my state the doc fee has to be what it actually costs to print those documents. However, the AG has given dealers a sweetheart deal to never investigate unless the doc fee is over $200. So all doc fees are always $200 and no dealer ever wants to get rid of that. So when negotiating I tell them I want an additional $200 off to offset that nonsense and they can keep that doc fee line item on the sheet.

4500$ starter car no fees yet and went to the dealer. 9000$ almost 10k I almost threw the monitor at them for wasting my time.

Love to see you take a trip to Florida and tell them you want to pay 300 on the doc fee. I’ve never seen a franchise dealer that doesn’t charge 1000-1200 for the doc fee

When it comes to the doc fee ask them to drop the vehicle price by the difference between what they insist on charging for the fee and the amount you are willing to pay. All they can say is no and you can also say no.

Yeah the dealer tried that with me on a pre-owned car ..I said what are these prep fees..he said when we get the cars we have to fill with fluids . I said it's pre-owned..it's got fluids than I said I'm paying 18000 cash take them off or I'll go somewhere else

Just go back and not pay the doc fee and any other fee besides the price of the vehicle, tax, title, and license. They don't take them off walk.
