Zero waste orange! #shorts

Показать описание
This is such an easy and absolutely delicious recipe using the peel of oranges to make delicious “candies” and it’s also super quick to make!
You could also use lemons and no need to remove the white part as it won’t be bitter at all after blanching.
CANDIED ORANGE PEELS
ZERO WASTE 🍊🍫
•peels of 3-4 oranges
•1-1/2 x cups brown sugar
•2 x cups water
•160 x g dark chocolate
•1/2 x cup chopped almonds
•sea salt optional
🥣STEP BY STEP:
-slice the orange peels of the size you prefer in this case I prefer them quite thin so each orange makes 8 parts.
-blanch the peels 2 times (because I use the whole peel keeping the white parts that are a bit bitter it will help to take out the bitterness)
-place the peels on a grid and let them cool and dry.
-in the meantime melt the chocolate on a double boiler and add the chopped almonds .
-coat the peels in the chocolate
-place them on a baking paper and let them cool completely
-store in an airtight container
-they will last around 2 months
