Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of Kia EV6 2022

Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
- a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h
- a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier
- a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door and the robustness of the centre airbag is evaluated
- a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

Why does EURONCAP refuse to test small overlap? Meaning trying to avoid a crash, but still get hit on the corner, exactly where cars have no protection, but is becoming more and more of how cars actually crash, other than getting under the back of a parked truck. As a journalist reporting local accidents, I'm shocked how avoidable those certain deaths are if only they accepted it and started to find a solution

Why is the front crash done at 50 km??? Most accidents happen at much higher speeds.

그래도 현기차가 전보단 충돌안전성에 있어 도 안전해진 것은 사실이긴 하네요. 앞으로 결함 등에 대처를 수익 보장 이런거 상관 없이 모든 시장에서 공평하게 대해줬으면 좋겠습니다. (다행히 정의선 체재로 바뀐 이후 뭔가 살짝 달라진거 같더라구요. 개인적으로 블루핸즈 직원들도 계약만 하지 말고 따로 교육도 했으면 하는 마음입니다.)

What happened to the small overlap crash tests. The one's where even Tesla struggle to meet the safety score of petrol cars like volvo and Subaru.
