I think its honestly how Marines present themselves and how I got enticed to become a Marine wasn’t college or a fancy bonus but just how my recruiter presented himself and how I wanted to be challenged. I didn’t think it at the time but I really did want that challenge. Now I get to wear that uniform with the upmost of pride. Rah.

On my deployment we did the math. We got less than $3 an hour. But you can't beat the camaraderie.

I think it's a two-fold thing.
1. Everyone knows the Marine dress uniform looks good.
2. The USMC doesn't lie to recruits. They're looking for the ones who hear, "It's kinda gonna suck ngl" and who still sign up. I went to army basic in 2006 with a rich kid who was told with a straight face that he wouldn't be deployed. 😅 I almost didn't graduate high school and I was smarter than to buy that.

It doesn't help with the wars or rather the purpose of the wars we've been fighting. A lot of people don't want to work for a government that doesn't give a shit about the people. It hurts but it's true.

Agreed. Plus Marines usually have the best recruitment commercials/advertisements. I still remember those commercials from back in the day.

A podcast by a former Navy Seal mentioned that they stayed in touch and rooted for each other after service, except when one was doing better than others they would try and tear them down. He said it's like that for all branches even SAS. The only exception in his opinion were Marines!! He said they always stick together and root for each other to do great things. Semper Fi!!!!

Marine corps has a VERY infectious culture. Never thought I'd miss it till I went blue side
