I have ultimate respect for the US forces of every kind. I am from the UK and I get sick of people saying bad things about the US... They are some of the best and brightest fighting forces on this planet, and without them the world would be a very different place and not in a good way! God bless our strongest allies!

As a United States Marine and 3 time combat Veteran of Iraq thank you. I served with Cpl Dunham for a short time when he was with 3rd Battalion 4th Marines before he went to 3rd Battalion 7th Marines. It is great to see people still honor his selfless act to save his fellow brothers. As far as Mc Dade should have also been awarded the Medal of Honor. Semper Fidelis.

I’m a US Marine…. but I’m here to tell you the Taliban fears no one. They’re willing to die for what they believe. I have respect for them…. I HATE THEM, but I respect them.

Gunny McDade may look terrifying but I have had the honor to meet and hang out with him. He is one of the most humble and carrying individuals you could ever meet. He has a love for every Marine he meets even if they didn’t serve together. He also cares greatly for his community and Country. Gunny McDade is a Marine’s, Marine. Semper Fi Gunny!

I was a Marine rifleman in the early 70's serving in the south pacific and it's stories like this that make me proud to have served with such an impressive, dedicated and giving group of America's best men. May God bless you all and your families.

The biggest treasure I ever had in life was having my younger brother, he was 21 when hi died in Iraq in 2003 with his Marine friend. Nothing will ever replace him, but he showed me that there are good people on this planet. Honor comes first, money last. There is something special about these Marines, and you can’t just teach that. They are born with it.

I went to bootcamp with Jason and he served about his first year in the fleet in my platoon before going off to Security Forces. He was funny as hell, and genuinely cared about the Marines around him, as he proved that day. I miss him everyday. But it’s the Marines who knew him and his own family who keep his memory alive and will make sure he is not forgotten. Til Valhalla, brother.

Marines are there and WILL lay down their lives for their BROTHERS, it goes to the total meaning SEMPER FI! As said by a Army Special Operator “Marines have Semper Fi, they are almost like a cult”. God Bless our Brothers

As a Navy Corpsman, I served with the Marines in various capacities over 18 years, from 1970 through 1989. The best experience of my life! I have participated in almost every aspect of Marine life. I have stood duty in downtown Jacksonville, NC with the MP's, I have stood staff duty watches in Honduras, and out worked my Marines in Korea on BLT 2/4, while saving the LtCol of the resident Marine force. (The Korean General died from botulism poisoning that the Lt Col dined with.) I watched radar screens in Honduras so that my Marines could take a break. I could complete the Marine PFT, and was trained on many weapons. I was more Marine than I was Corpsman. Loved it! Wish I could do it still! Marines are badass! McDade deserves the MOH!

These stories you tell are sobering and at the same time uplifting. Our country need never forget these sacrifices. I believe these stories have the potential to draw a divided nation closer together.
