I literally needed this so much! Recently I have been so consistent with my working out and being healthy for almost two months now but lately I’ve been hard on myself more than I think I should be. I forget that I am doing the best I can and I’m staying consistent which matters the most. It’s a mental battle sometimes but I’m proud of myself for not stopping. I can’t wait to see how much my body improves in the next few months

During the summer I had toned abs, defined collarbones and shoulders, a leaner face and during 2-3 months, I gained around 15 lbs, I felt devastated, but hearing Bukola talk about her experience with what I went through is so much more encouraging. Going back to my journey!

I constantly struggle with this. I am underweight (and always have been) but now with a noticeably bigger midsection. When I am anxious/stressed/depressed, that manifests itself into me barely eating, neglecting fitness or any activity, and prioritizing unhealthy over-sleeping. I have been in that state for a while and have just hired a nutritionist to help me with lifestyle changes surrounding eating healthier and working out. Your video was such a motivator of LIFESTYLE CHANGE, and not "quick fix, get ripped in 30 days" that inundates us all looking for a change. Thanks so much!

This has something I struggled with a lot in the past few years, and i didnt know there was a term for it. I've been toned/slim for most of my life, but I had a very rough senior year of college where I gained 10-15 lbs and haven't managed to lose it yet. I look fine in clothes, but seeing this newfound pudge in the mirror each day gets discouraging.

I resolved to change that this year, so thanks for this very timely video, especially about the part about the dangers of eating less and doing more cardio. That's been my strategy, and that clearly hasn't been helping.

- Eat 300 calories less than ur maintenance calories: my maintenance is 1733, so the amount I need to eat to lose weight is 1433.

- Replace carbs with protein: Also try to eat 1 gm protien/1 lb. So as I weigh 112, then, I must eat 112 grams of protein per day. Its better to enforce this goal bc even if you cant eat this amount of protein in a single day, there’s a good chance you still closer to that objective, i.e: eating 0.7 gm/lb = 80

- EXERCISE: exercise is very important as diet is.

- Go to gym: just doing cardio and crunches isn’t going to progress. You have to go to the gym and take advantage of the tools.

- there’s a chance that you were following a bad plan because there is no progressive overload. Increase the difficulty level every 2 days or 1 week.

- Progressive Overload: you increase the difficulty overtime
- If you’re starting your fitness journey, gain more muscle to increase Resting BMR, so you can loose fat easily

- Resting BMR: the amount that you’re burning while sitting.
- Must track your progress: you can do this in many ways. Measure your weight, take pics, skin-fold caliber, clothes,

- Dont only track your weight. You can easily be misguided for smth else. Its better to use more ways than this like measuring your waist, body fat.

- “Abs are made in the kitchen” ideology: those who said this, they had lucky genes to receive: not having fat in their belly, but they tend to store fat in their backs. For those who dont have those genes, use the ab machine, hip abductor,

- Have a schedule: Prep ur protein on Sunday to be ready to work out on Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

My go-to protein products are: cottage cheese for breakfast, then chicken breast and vegan protein bars! Oh and maybe some protein shakes (with few ingredients, from the supermarket)!

I absolutely don't stress when it comes to weight loss... I feel that ppl pressure themselves because of what they see in the media🤷just be balanced in your diet and physical activity... Its all about balance.... Stress will not help you lose weight it will hinder

Nicely put! There are seasons of life when your muffin top is not a priority. Never hate the body that is doing everything it can to keep you alive despite your chronic lack of sleep, exhausting job, questionable food choices, and overscheduled family. Instead find ways to be gentle and kind. But calorie counting ain't sustainable.
