Can parenting can be bad for your health?

U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy is advising that parents are stressed out and it could affect their mental health and well-being. Robin Gurwitch, a professor and psychologist at Duke University, joins CBS News with how parenting has changed across the country.

Financial stress is the number 1 reason for parenting stress . Not isolation, not AI, not social media . Not long ago 1 parent can work and make ends meet, now both parents working and they are in debt .

Lack of life/ work balance is the real stressor.

We're in times where there aren't any safe places for kids. Even at home they can access the world through their phones even when parents try to use safety measures on the technology. These times are getting so expensive for childcare. I don't know how parents do it.

My goodness. What’s next? Them telling us children are only a clump of cells and not really people until they are 18?
I am a parent of two, 1 year old and 3 years old and it’s the most difficult and challenging part of my life. My wife and I have absolutely no help and support from family or friends to relieve the difficulty of everyday life with kids. But what I have learned is that nothing in life worth doing is easy and free of stress and challenges. Giving people an outlet to think that this is supposed to be easy is enabling people to make themselves victims.

Parenting is more difficult, but we are raising kids with less trauma and less physical damage. My mom had severe cracked skull as a baby. I had a slight cracked skull as a baby. My kid had no injury. We improved every generation.

Watching this video was bad for my health. It brought me 6 minutes closer to the time of my death.

Daycare costs itself stressed me out. My parents didn’t have to deal with that. They also didn’t have to worry about strapping their kids in the car or if they would be snatched from bus stop. Times have changed, sorry to say for those who are stuck in 1800s.

Are these people kidding? There is stress everywhere. In the workplace, in relationships with siblings, taking public transportation, driving, being pedestrians, dealing with the IRS.... many ways stress can affect people. And these delusional people picked parenting as a problem? This just shows how really fallen this society has become.
