What comes to our minds when we hear the word ‘superfood’? Some super-expensive, exotic, hard to pronounce and weird looking berries, herbs and concoctions, right?
It is time for us to change our perception and to identify the INDIAN superfoods that have been around us for centuries. These foods are much more beneficial for us that anything that’s exotic, while being way more affordable.

Through this channel, I intend to popularise such Indian superfoods. Knowing about our indigenous superfoods will help us improve our health greatly while benefitting our local economy and farmers.

This video is about the benefits of soaking almonds. Almonds are an Indian superfood which are very rich in protein, fibre, vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients. To reap maximum health benefits, almonds should be soaked overnight and peeled.
Peeled almonds taste great, and they’re also nutritionally richer than the unpeeled almonds.
When we soak the almonds overnight, they are peeled-off easily the next day. The almond peel contains a chemical compound called as tannic acid, which is an ‘anti-nutrient’. That is, it prevents the release of minerals like iron, magnesium and manganese, decreasing the bioavailability of these minerals.

That is the reason why it is a good idea to have overnight soaked and peeled almonds.

I will post videos about other Indian superfoods as well in which I will talk about their nutritional value, the best way of eating them and the quantities in which they should be eaten.

Before watching this video I used to eat raw almonds and I don't get hungry for a long time. And sometime I felt very uncomfortable because of the heaviness of my stomach. And because of that I was not able to eat my breakfast properly. And I used to vomit sometimes because I have very poor digestion.
But after having soaked almonds it helping me so much. My problems are solved so far.

Hello ma'am, can we eat overnight soaked and then peeled almonds in the morning as a 1st meal along with fruits?
I read and heard that never eat nuts (almond, cashews, pista etc) & seeds along with fruits. We ate fruits in the morning as a 1st meal then how can we eat soked almonds in breakfast.

One small clarification, when we eat raw badam, anyways we bite, chew and then we swole....how badam skin will hold the release of nutrients???

Hi, I make almond drink. With 1 gallon of milk and 300 g (soaked) almonds. For 4 days 1 glass in breakfast. So is it good like that or just raw?
